Due-Back — Restaurant in Island Heights

It's rare when I see a small business on Instagram in the early morning that I get SO excited about that I race there maybe an hour after they open, but Due-Back was absolutely love at first sight.

There are large coffee chains that pay millions to try and recreate the authentic charm and aesthetic that Due-Back achieves through just being themselves. Everything is hand crafted from the blended hot and cold beverages straight down to their branded merchandise (go check out the hand sewn beach hats!). Even the decor is made or hand painted by one of the owners.

But they're not all flash and no bang; the coffee is fantastic. I looked at the menu before I went and knew that I'd be ordering the "Dirty Chia Latte" ( dirty because they add a shot of espresso) but what I wasn't expecting was that I could get it iced!

Check their winter hours and go bask in their caffeinated awesomeness now before the nice weather hits, as the main drag in Island Heights...

This is my new favorite coffee shop! I used to love Dunkin’, but if I want a consistently great cup I always go to Due-Back. There are so many varieties of coffee and tea to choose from, and the coffee doesn’t taste burnt like Starbucks. I love the pour over coffee because it’s so fresh every time, but recently I started drinking the turmeric latte. It has helped with my acid reflux immensely! I can’t get enough of this place. If you’re looking for a cute, local, small business to support, Due-Back is it! They have delicious pastries from local bakeries and even some ice cream bars for the kids in the summer. Once you grab your goodies you can take a short walk down to the river and enjoy the view. Oh also, if you’re looking for a hidden menu item… ask about the blue raspberry lemonade....

My boyfriend and I come here all the time from Beachwood, it’s definitely my favorite coffee place! I’m a big flavored coffee girlie and due back always has the best flavors. There teas are also so good I love matcha and the matcha there is BOMB. I also love that they have specials every month so I get to always try something new! The owners are super sweet, the store is cute, the pastries are also pretty good. There’s seating outside in the shade and it’s also only a few blocks away from the boardwalk which is awesome! I can’t recommend this...
