The bad service started as I walked in the front door. A short hair blonde refuse to let me bring my water bottle in. I've been ill and dehydrated and had water with liquid IV. I said alright, although I wasn't happy with that, but I was under the impression that they'd bring me plenty of water. That didn't happen. We ordered chicken Ceasar, fish and chips, large beet salad, snack BBQ chicken pizza, and a large chili, for a total of $94! With those kinds of prices everything better be amazing, and it just wasn't. The chili has cheese in it and my wife is lactose intolerant. We asked for the chili with no cheese, it came out with cheese. Then it took, 15 plus min to bring out the corrected one. Ridiculous. Next, I drank my glass of water, and asked for another one. I sat there and sat there and sat there and she never brought me another water. I looked around for our server Katie and she was behind the bar in the back ON HER PHONE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, AND STILL never brought my water. And after the fit the hostess thru about me bringing in my water bottle, yea, I'm pissed. Her being on her phone and not providing service, really was aggravating. Then the straw that broke the camels back, was she charged us for 2 large chili's when we only had one, after we had already ran the credit card. On top of all that, there was only 3 tables in the whole place on a Tuesday. It was dead. So, to sum it up the place was slow, and we still got horrible service. Katie was nice, but just bad at her job. That combined with making a big deal about my water bottle, is truly just awful. Let's not even mention the ridiculously high prices. To charge that much and then give that bad of service, on a slow night, while my server was messing around on her phone in the back? God awful. With all that said, the...
Read moreWe’ve traveled across the country with our 12-year-old child who has severe food allergies, and never once have we encountered the kind of insensitive, hostile treatment we experienced at Pond’s Lodge.
As always, we informed the staff that our son would not be ordering due to his allergies and had brought his own safe meal – something we’ve done at countless restaurants without issue. That changed here.
Enter the blonde “Karen” of Pond’s Lodge – aggressive, confrontational, and completely lacking in empathy. She approached us mid-meal with an attitude, loudly enforcing their “no outside food” policy as if we were sneaking in fast food rather than protecting our child’s health and safety. When we calmly explained the situation and even offered to leave if our presence wasn’t welcome, she continued pushing their policy with zero compassion.
Our son, humiliated and now too embarrassed to eat, packed away his food. That’s when we decided we’d had enough. We asked for our $140+ meal to be boxed up and walked out. The only semblance of professionalism came from the apologetic staff—who clearly struggle under this woman’s rule.
The food? Irrelevant at this point. The experience? Unforgivable.
If you value kindness, decency, and the basic human understanding that food allergies are not a lifestyle choice, avoid this place at all costs. No one deserves to be treated the way we were—especially...
Read moreOptions have been limited for gluten free in Yellowstone, but the pizza here was good for gf. Shared fryer so we couldnt do any of those options. They have items marked that can be made gf. If you arent celiac, they have plenty of options. The little and I are celiac, so that was a little harder. They had cheesy bread, which was really cheesy pizza, no sauce. The little was willing to eat that. The beet salad was tasty. I got the pizza with chicken, and that was good too. The hubby isn't gf and said his regular pizza was really good. It's a cool bar in town and was definitely busy with a good vibe. They seem to do a ton of takeout too. We'd come by again. We appreciate any attempt to...
