We did drive thru as it was the only option and we didn't want to lose too much time. So much for that plan.
Remembering I had the app on my phone, I decided to check for deals. Aside from the coffee deals (not my thing) there was a deal for $1 off a large fries. Great, I wanted that. But I had to log into the app again after not using it for months.
So I of course had to reset the password, sending code to my email. Filled in the code from the email, reset the password and added other things to our order. When I went to pay I found the app had lost my credit card so I had to fill that in again. Did so, placed order online and got a code for the order.
Went to the drive thru window, said "I just placed an order online, my code is" and the voice thru the speaker said "For Susan?" I said yes and drove up to the window where the girl I just spoke to suddenly couldn't find my order even after I gave her the code
This began about 5 minutes of me repeating the items in my order and the cashier unable to locate it. When a supervisor came over, I explained what had happened and she was able to find the order but it was not paid, despite having just entered my credit card details.
We drove away from the drive thru window, parking in a pick up space while trying to figure out what happened. I checked my bank app and saw nothing had been charged from McDonald's. So we went back to the drive thru, retrieved our food after putting my credit card through and drove away.
1.5 points off for an app that logged me out then didn't have my credit card stored when I logged back in. I would have thought McDonald's could make a more user friendly app, and ANY notification that my credit card didn't go through would have helped.
Half a point deducted because of the confusion from both the cashier and the supervisor. If they knew it was Susan's order one minute, why couldn't they find it three minutes later? The supervisor blamed it on the app, saying it's glitchy. Thanks, won't be using That app in future.
The food was good and hadn't gotten cold in the 15 or so minutes this mess took, but I'll be disinclined to go to McDonald's again...
Read moreAfter grabbing what I ordered. I'd also bought a large drink with the order. Cup wasn't placed out which is fine. No big deal, I asked for one. Instantly young lady acted as if it was a huge inconvenience just to grab me a cup before grabbing the cup she looks at the cashier (who was taking an order) looks at the young lady with the pink streak in the hair (which she was being wonderful and respectful taking the order of the customer she was attending to) with a eye rolling look about to expect her to grab the cup for me. After noticing she was busy she did grab a cup finally for me. What set me off was after grabbing the cup, already being off the other cups, she goes ahead and puts her fingers on the inside of the cup and hands it to me. Due to other customers in younger kids being around I said thank you grabbed the cup and walked away. You never truly know who you're serving not that it matters, I suppose my only concern is, people with low immunities could get sick by the slightest of germ coming off of someone's hand. My opinion there was no reason she needed to place her fingers on the inside of the cup that she was handing me. I'm young myself not even 30 yet but I do believe this is a generational lack of work ethic and having just simple consideration for others. Imagine if this employee handed a cup in this manner to a regional manager's nephew son etc word does travel. What's the regional manager for the east side of the state McDonald's is a very wonderful and very respectful lady. So I'm not knocking against anybody cuz I know she takes very good care of her stores. That's if she's still runs the side of the state. Anyways this particular employee would do best if she cut the entitlement attitude. And respected other employees around her...
Read moreCall me old fashioned but I expect McDonald's to at least put a real person at the register to take your order and exchange money with me, the customer. Instead I walk in to this establishment to find an almost abandoned dining room sporting a few TV screens which I am told are there to take my order. These touch screen order takers are a new thing to this consumer so I spend the first 3 minutes of my visit trying to make sense of these supposed " time saving" contraptions. With the occasional employee appearance at the counter, to yell out a name or order number, it's almost impossible to get their attention for assistance. So, I'm an intelligent human being, I can figure this out, right? I did indeed figure it out. With next to no helpful instructions or on screen hints, i, after viewing many screens of food I find less than helpful in my quest for a burger, meal deal, and additional beverage, finally have an order placed and paid for. The wait for the food was 4 minutes. Half of the time it took to go thru the ordering process. By the way, I think Ronald owes me a paycheck for taking my own order during my stressful visit. It's my guess that some people who struggle with reading may give up on this technological change and storm out hungry... Or maybe this is we have a Hambergaler problem. I'm taking matters into my own hands and storming the McDonald's HQ... Let's see what steps Mayor McCheese takes to make things a little more...
