Villa Schiano — Restaurant in Jackson Township

My husband, daughter and I came here a couple weeks ago and it was something new to us. We had passed it multiple times but never stopped in until recently. I got the lasagna and my husband got the chicken Marsala. The lasagna tasted awful. You could tell it was some pre frozen food. It has so much hard cheese on stop. There was way too much cheese in between as well. Also the table behind us must have known the waitress waiting on them as they were talking a lot during their meal. The waitress was basically talking horrible about her job and the place in general. The table had a coupon for an X amount of money off their meal and the waitress took off way more then she should have and just shrugged it off and said how she hated her job anyway. I have been here several times. This time I tried the gnocchi with butter sauce and Sage. I'd really do not think that it was real butter and I do not like fake butter. I packed it up took it home rinse it off and put tomato sauce on it. The other two people with me dinner's were big and they were good. I have had stuffed cabbage there that was excellent. I just don't think that the butter was real otherwise I guess it would have been fine. My fault for not asking for real butter. Extremely tasty authentic Italian food, a real brick pizza oven, the nicest waiters, fast service, and a nice brick,stone and wood interior. I love this place! Edit. The state is trying to shut down this guys business after he came from Italy worked his way up and built himself multiple restuarants by the sweat of his brow and now the state wants to shut him down for opening his restaurant on his private land.
