It's not a trendy craft-beer sort of place, but its been a local watering hole for many decades, as a working-class neighborhood sort of bar. The food is typical bar food, but tasty. Don't bother ordering some sort of fancy cocktail with an umbrella in it, as that will just get you a blank look, and then a helpful suggestion, such as, "Well, maybe you'd like something like a Jack and Coke instead?" We lived in the near neighborhood 40 years before setting foot in the place, but now occasionally meet another elderly couple there for bar food and conversation (sandwiches, appetizers, two drinks apiece came to $50 for four). The outside patio is quieter, and shaded by the building in the early evening hours. Mostly country music on the jukebox. Several pool tables. Small restrooms.
