It was always a treat to go to here for me and my mom, but after today’s experience I will not return. Came for lunch and ordered the Tuna Sandwich Combo and an Arnold Palmer. It was over $20! That’s insane for lunch! You order at the counter and get a pager to retrieve your food when it’s ready and when you pay with a Credit Card they ask if you want to add a tip for 15% or more? Why? No one serves you. No one clears your plate. The Arnold Palmer needed more lemonade so after a couple sips I thought I’ll just wait until I’m finished with my lunch and go ask if they could put a touch more Lemonade in it for me-no biggie. The Turkey Wild Rice Soup has cinnamon in it or something that made it sweet so I didn’t care for that at all. Tried 3 bites. Tuna sandwich was good. Fresh rolls that they ask if you’d like but don’t tell you they’re like $3 or so up charge are like paste balls with no flavor and hard to swallow. So after paying $20 and only enjoying my sandwich, I went up to the counter and asked if the young lady would add a bit more lemonade to my drink. She scolded me that I should know their Iced Tea is unsweetened then proceed to add a couple tablespoons of lemonade for me. I then asked her about f I could exchange my soup for a muffin or something else because I didn’t care for it and obviously didn’t eat 97% of it. She said “We don’t do that.” Ummm, I have never been anywhere where the restaurant doesn’t offer something to make the customer satisfied if they’re not happy with an order-ever. Another woman working overheard our conversation and ended up offering me a $4 gift card, but I told her I’m not going to be back so I ended up with a Lemon poppyseed muffin that is as dry as the Mojave. Overpriced is an understatement, not so tasty food and poor...
Read moreCoffeeville has always been a cute spot for coffee/smoothie/food or even a small performance. Prices were a bit higher than I preferred, but so is everything nowadays. The log cabin vibe and quaint atmosphere were perfect. Loved Coffeeville this past summer and had great memories here with genuinely good food and coffee. I moved out of the area and visited recently and was really surprised coming to Coffeeville. The new logo and colors were a bit of a surprise.
The Forest Green Palm Tree really clashes with the Log Cabin aesthetic. It gave me secondhand cringe because anytime I see green and coffee together - immediately, you think Starbucks. The resemblance to Starbucks was uncanny, unoriginal, and corny at best.
Coffee was mediocre. I wasn't wowed. It's coffee. I try not to be picky and I'll enjoy almost any coffee, from Folgers to Colectivo. I did get a breakfast sandwich, however there's only one word to describe the breakfast sandwich options - whack. The combinations of ingredients were incredibly odd. Almost like phishing for originality, but entirely missing the mark and hitting "wacky sandwich shop" right on the bullseye. But no problem, I don't have to order it. I ordered the Farmer and it was a fine sandwich, but not worth over 11 dollars. Maybe a small step above a $3 Kwik Trip sandwich. Latte was around 6 dollars as well - over $17 for two items.
The only thing redeeming this for me is the service - best service I've ever experienced. The food could be cold and hard, I would choose to not order it and keep coming back just for the exceptional...
Read moreI like to post reviews good and corrective. Live in town and come here often. Love the atmosphere, unique eats and beverages that are pretty good. The service is 95% good as well. There is one staff member…. I’ve given her 4-5 visits to see if the first was just a bad day. Nope. Unfortunately her demeanor, facial expressions, and tone have consistently remained unamused, unhappy, irritated and annoyed. The “is that it?” x3 while ordering is overkill. I’ve tried being light hearted, find something to compliment her on… and her demeanor doesn’t change. People walked in behind us and you could clearly see the irritation in her face, and see her sigh. She was at the counter and two others were at the drive thru window or running drinks. Smiles on faces, pleasant tone. Clearly liking their jobs. I couldn’t find an email to reach out to. She’s also the only one without a nametag. She’s there often, daily? At least there each time I visit. Is she ok? Does she need a break? I wanted to say something, to see if she’s ok. I’m not a complainer, just thought someone should know. That’s the first thing customers see when they walk in or drive up. :(
I have to update my review. I’ve been coming back on a regular basis still. Today we enjoyed some sandwiches, smoothies, and a Naked Latte. Wow the Rotisserie is AWESOME! “Chicken salad” choice of bread, just a hint of spice. Latte delish. Service… SPLENDID!! I have no complaints these past few months. Wonderful coffee shop all the...
