I regret having to leave this review, but as a fellow business owner, I believe it's essential to share my experience. I hope that Huntley Dornan and the board at Moose Enterprises will take note of this feedback.
During our recent visit to Dornan's Pizza, we were deeply disappointed by the behavior of one of your employees. Upon entering the restaurant and joining the line, we ordered two pizzas and some buttered noodles.
Although the pizzas were delicious, our encounter took a sour turn when my wife asked Julia, who had just finished delivering food, for some ranch dressing to accompany our meal. Julia's response to my wife was shockingly rude. She curtly insisted that we needed to get back in line to order it, despite the fact that the line had grown quite long, with 20-30 people waiting. We had just spent $55 on our meal + a bottle of wine and drinks for the kids from the bar (so three transactions for a pizza dinner), along with generous tips. While we understood the challenges of dining in a popular location like The Tetons, we decided to let it go. After some discussion and waiting in line, Julia eventually brought us a cup of ranch, mentioning that we didn't have to pay for it. We thanked her and proceeded to our table.
Throughout our meal, Julia kept giving us hostile glares and pointed at our table from inside the restaurant (we were seated on the lower patio).
After we finished eating and went to refill our water bottles from the nearby cooler, Julia suddenly appeared and launched into a rant about not appreciating being cursed at. Her words were incomprehensible as she raised her voice. To our surprise, she then snatched our half-full, corked bottle of wine. I immediately requested to speak with the manager.
The manager, named Skylar as far as I can recall, came over and I asked if it was permissible for an employee to take a corked bottle of wine from a customer. To her credit, she offered us a free replacement bottle of wine, which was a kind gesture that we did not expect. Up until that point, I had no intention of leaving a negative review. However, my opinion changed when the manager walked away and reassured Julia, telling her not to worry about it. As a business owner myself, I understand the importance of supporting employees, but I believe there could have been a better way to handle the situation. It is crucial to help staff members understand the importance of treating customers with respect and addressing issues in a professional manner. Julia's actions did not meet the standards I would expect from a business with the reputation of the Dornan family. She made no attempt to communicate about the corked wine; she simply took it without any explanation. Considering the diverse range of patrons from around the world who visit your establishment, it is vital for your staff to be aware of the relevant rules and communicate them effectively. I acknowledge that staffing can be challenging, especially with young employees, but it is the responsibility of leadership to guide and train them, rather than enabling their disrespectful behavior. If Julia were my employee, I would ensure she received appropriate training to handle similar situations with greater politeness and professionalism. It is puzzling to me how an establishment with a fantastic reputation has managed to thrive for so long. While I understand that everyone has bad days, this incident seemed far beyond what one would expect from a simple bad day. As a business owner myself, I find it challenging to let go of employees who exhibit problematic behavior, but in this case, I felt compelled to share my experience in the hope that it will be constructive. I must reiterate that the pizza itself was truly...
Read moreGreat pizza but worst costumer service!
We were looking forward to trying this delicious pizza because of a blog in YouTube promoting the Grand Tetons.
We came around 6pm from our hike in Jenny Lake and we were famished. First off, nobody was in the door to guide costumers where to sit or go. The only thing to guide you was a sign in the door that says sit yourself and order in the register.
There was a long queue, place was fully packed and loud with no organization whatsoever. It’s like they expect you to know how there whole process works. When we reach the cashier she didn’t even give us the menu or even greeted us. She looked uninterested in serving us and annoyed that we were unprepared with our orders coz we were unfamiliar with the items on the menu. Then she asked us if we already have seats and told us there will be a 45 minutes wait time to be seated despite the fact that the sign says to sit yourself. So we told her we’ll check out the patio area but she insisted we will still have to wait for 45 mins. Then we said, we’ll just have it to-go as we were already there and starving. She then rudely replied that we still have to wait for 45 mins despite that.
We just proceeded with the order and looked for seats to wait and were surprised that there’s a lot of seats in the patio and was able to even seat ourselves inside. We decided we’ll just eat and go as we still have a long drive ahead of us. They gave us the boxes and didn’t even give any napkins but we ate our pizza for about 20 mins and a lot of staff passed us numerous times without saying a thing. Even that same cashier/waitress passed a couple of times but when we were about to finish our food she approached us and said that the table was reserved for the people who dine in only! We immediately said we’re done and left without saying anything.
We were so upset and felt discriminated as we saw another girl as well on our way out eating with her family in a to go box.
Despite the fact that we loved the pizza here we’ll never come back. Hopefully, other will have better...
Read moreUnreal views out the restaurant window and off the deck and it’s located in a good little hub with other food options and a general store around. Decent prices given the location, service was super friendly and the food was good. I got the lobster ravioli which was fantastic and had a lot of lobster on top which I didn’t expect. Unfortunately the creamy chicken pasta that my friend got was spicy and this wasn’t indicated at all on the menu or by the ingredients. They have an intolerance to chilli/peppers so we had to swap our meals and both ended up eating meals that we really didn’t like or enjoy as a result. Would be much better if this spice was flagged on the menu. There’s also a lot of Bees in and outside of the restaurant which is non problematic for the large majority of people and certainly not a criticism of the restaurant as this is part and parcel of being in nature. Only reason I’m noting it is in case someone is allergic, it may be best to avoid. Overall I think this was a great spot and wish I could have enjoyed my dish here or had the time to come back a second time. All the other food being brought out looked great, especially the pizza and everything was being brought out fast so their service was efficient which is great as it’s...
