Most embarrassing situation ever!!! It was my birthday so my fiance got me a $50 gift card as 1 of my gifts. We went all day without eating so that we could enjoy our meal. The waitress was sweetie but did not get our order right and It took them along time to bring my birthday cake. My fiance ordered the fish plate and boneless wet lemon pepper chicken. They should have warned us that they didn't know how to do wet lemon pepper but the sauce was awful!!!! It taste like cooking grease and he could not eat that mess of sauce.I ordered blue crab and even discussed how it said they was seasonal with the waitress.Well they brought me king crab legs and i was like ok. Im going to order blue crab more often if this is how they are."keep in mind that I have never heard of blue crabs before"so i wanted to try them needles to say I still havent. So the whole time I think I'm eating blue crab and they gave me what they wanted me to have but I must say that those legs was good so good that i asked for an bag to take my son 2 of them. To make a long story short. They tried to make me pay for what I didn't order and the manager was a total jerk and is not professional enough to be an manager!!! He told us that even if it was their mistake that we would have to pay for it due to companys policy. And if we did not pay that they will have to call the police (LMBO)cause that did not intimate me at all! He even had the nerve to say " why would you order something you have never ate" 1st of all ,How else would you know if you like something? They was really argumentative!!!! After us going back and forth cause we was not going to pay for their mistake. We gave him the gift card cause thats what we owed not 90+ dollars!!!!!Then he said" give me the bag(doggy bag) "lmbo they wanted the remaining food that I had left over ( talk about petty)I gave it to him and we left! I must say that the waitress apologized and they act as if they was mad about her apologizing for her mistake.. They need NEW MANAGEMENT!!!!!! THE MANAGER...
Read moreI'm giving a generous 2 stars. This was our 3rd time here. The first was great, over 2 years ago. The second was not great. We decided to give it another shot for my husband's birthday. It was HORRIBLE. To start, the staff acts like you are inconveniencing them by coming. We had 8 people, at 6pm, and were taken to two tables pushed together and the waitress in that area looked at us with exasperation and then turned around and walked off. That's before we even got seated, and it went down hill from there. We waited forever for drinks. We were given one paper bucket with plastic, yes plastic utensils. We each (x8) ordered the Sunday special of crab legs and lobster... To be eaten with thin plastic utensils. We asked at least twice for crackers to break the shells. No one ever bothered so I took my dripping crab legs to the front of the store to ask for either crackers or someone to open our food for us. We were given one pair for 8 of us! It was ridiculous. Our seafood was cold by the time we could finally eat it! We never got checked on for refills. The waitress asked if my husband preferred chocolate or strawberry... For what, because she never came back?!?!? We stayed around for 30 minutes after eating to order dessert and see what the waitress intended to bring for my husband's birthday. She never came back! The service was terrible, yet we were forced to pay this girl nearly 60 dollars because you are forced to tip with a party over 6! We left and she was sitting at the bar having a great time on our dime! We will not be going back and I would recommend no one bother with this very expensive place with dreadful service! It's a shame, because the food is good, when you're able to eat it. Until they get a new owner, new management, or both, this place will...
Read moreI dined in at this place for the first time on Tuesday afternoon about 1pm. There was only a family of 4 eating in the dining room, the restaurant was basically empty. This place smells great when you walk in. Very fresh and clean. The décor is super nautical and pleasant, many things for kids to look at. I ordered the calamari, lemon pepper wings and 3 piece fish plank basket. I perceive that Red Hook batters their seafood in house. It's not something frozen, poured out of a box and dumped in the fryer. I was stunned at how excellent the calamari was. Comparable to some upper class San Fran restaurants I’ve eaten at. The calamari rings were fresh, not rubbery or chewy, which is what I was expecting for side of the highway Jackson. The fried batter on them was light and crispy. Perfect. The LP wings were satisfactory. I would have preferred them a little juicer and less chewy. The Fish planks however, were excellent. I had the cajun fries which were also very good. Like some of the other reviewers here, I didn’t feel the waitress paid enough attention to me, I had to wave to get her attention to ask for things like extra ranch & a to go box, but she was pleasant enough when interacting with me. This place does a brisk carry out business. About every 5 minutes someone was coming in to pick up an order. I paid $26 for lunch & was very satisfied. I intend to...
