I really like this place! I've taken my parents here when they're in town, come here with girlfriends, and would go here on a casual date. Food is good, no complaints. Really deserves more attention in Jackson!
UPDATE MAR 2019: DO NOT GO HERE. I don’t know what happened in the past year, but the quality completely tanked. In our group, 9/10 orders were really messed up. The salad I had was topped with plastic-tasting chicken and even the lettuce somehow tasted nasty. There were only one or two other tables, and we were very patient. I don’t know how they managed to mess up so badly and take so long. The waiter clarified “sweet tea?” with a friend 3 or 4 times before he finally brought it out. And asked us if everything was great about 5 times. No. It’s not great. There were so many errors that couldn’t have been just the waiter or just the kitchen, but some scary combo of the two. One more example: he said the side of vegetables was a nice steamed mix of carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. It was instead a mushy creature of sad squash and cucumbers that tasted awful and was way over cooked.
Unless they get new management or something... I’m never going back. I was kind of impressed with...
Read moreYesterday was the first and last time that I will go to this restaurant. The only good thing I can say is that the food was good but it was cold and/or lukewarm - I like my food hot. I arrived and was greeted by a very pleasant hostess that placed my name on the list. However, the second hostess didn't pay the list any attention because she began to set guest who just walked up to the restaurant, the two ladies need to be on the same page. Second, the hostess that seated me didn't take time to tell me anything about the brunch nor where anything was located. The wait staff were not attentive at all, it took having three to four plates on your table before anyone even thought to come and move the used dishes. Outside of the food tasting good that was lukewarm, the best thing about experience was the gentlemen that made the omlettes; he was pleasant, high energy, and engaging with everyone standing around to make an order. Last, the manager on duty only left the cashier to check on thing in the back, she never took time to come and check on the guest. I WORK FOR ONE OF THE HOTELS IN THE AREA AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS "BRUNCH" TO ANY OF MY GUEST ---- horrible, horrible,...
Read moreI can’t comment on the food, only the service. I contacted the front desk to find out if there was a restaurant in the hotel. I was advised yes and that if I took the breakfast out it was free. But if I dined in there was a charge. I entered the restaurant and no one was in attendance. Someone finally came, looked around and said I don’t know where she is at. I heard conversation in the kitchen so I yelled in the kitchen if I could get some assistance. The conversation stopped but no one came out. 10 mins later someone came and I asked for two bacon sandwiches. I was asked if I was a gold/or platinum member and for my name. She then said I wasn’t a member (my reservation was not in my name - but she didn’t bother to ask). She advised that she only had what was on the menu. I ordered a meal less 90% of the meal. All I wanted was a couple of bacon sandwiches and an oj. She again said i only have what was on the menu. I said thank you and left. I ended up across the street at the Waffle House where the made me among other things 2 bacon sandwiches. The service at the Twist was less...
