This place is in a weird part of town. At first we were skeptical but after we walked through the doors our deminior changed completely. It's an older building that has recently been renovated so it looks very hipster inside. It's definitely a place for families. We sat at the "family picnic table". The menu was fresh and held many delicious looking options. It was hard for our family to choose. We got make your own pizza for the kids. They literally mean make your own pizza. Our two year old loved making his. They bring it on a tray with sauce and the two toppings. That was only 4.99!!! My husband and I tried the cauliflower parmesan. The noodles tasted fresh made and the marinara sauce was amazing. The marinara had actual vegetables in it. It had onions, celery, carrots, and peppers in it. It wasn't chunky with a lot of vegetables but they were just subtle enough to add extra flair to this homemade sauce. The cauliflower was very good. Some pieces were fried too long but other than that it was amazing. It seemed like a whole head of cauliflower. The serving was huge. The cauliflower had a very good breading on it. It came with a salad & the thousand island was house made. It was very very good. My family got a Sicilian pizza. It was the Joe's special. It had a ton of toppings on it. We got the garlic knots for the table. The bread was fresh made and delicious. We ordered three deserts and it was my two year olds birthday. He got a giant chocolate chip cookie. It was soft and fresh. We ordered cheesecake, a chocolate chip canoli, and the baklava. Everything was amazing. Our server seemed tired. She needed a break & really shouldn't have been given our table. We had to wait a while to get any service at all but we needed the time to look at the menu. A lot of the servers were super nice and helpful to our table because they knew our server was tired. Overall this place was great . None of us spent over $40 & we got everything we wanted. The portions were huge and the food was great. I recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for homemade, fresh, Italian cuisine in a family...
Read moreOn Saturday, April 3rd, my friend and I received the most negligent service at Joseph’s Italian Restaurant on Main Street. This was unfortunate because we like the food there. We were seated in a section where those who were there before us were finishing up and were receiving the attention of the two waitresses (who did not wear masks). The waitresses carried on long pleasant conversations with those tables and finished up with them. Although neither waitress ever said someone would be there to help us, we waited patiently, thinking that surely one of them would come to our table after the other guests left. No! This did not happen. Not one of them greeted us. Then, when we were the only ones in that section, no one came to our table. In fact, both waitresses went together to a corner near the kitchen and carried on a relaxed conversation as though they were on break. I was surprised that they did not ask each other about the couple seated in the section where the two of them had just left. This went on for about 15 minutes after the other guests exited. Decidedly, we went to the take-out section and ordered to go. Seeing this, the two waitresses came and apologized for not knowing that we were SOMEBODY’S dine-in guests. The next day, Easter, my friend and I went to Barrique in Avondale and had a 100% opposite experience. We entered, were seated, and immediately were greeted by a very busy (mask wearing) waitress, who said, “Hi! Someone will be with you shortly.” A pleasant greeting with a smile and attentive, skillful service throughout our time there demonstrated consummate professionalism. It is unfortunate that we did not receive the same service...
Read moreI have driven past by this restaurant many times over the years. Too busy to stop and try them out. Well I stopped yesterday 10/15/2022. Once inside I picked a table for two being I was single. But I also wanted to watch the College Football game that was on the TV in my area. I was given a paper menu and I checked out what they had to offer. A lot of food I was first thinking about having Spaghetti but I don't like A lot and with sauce very little. So I ordered a Medium Pizza with light sauce and cheese. With only Italian Sausage on it. The waitress told me it takes 35 minutes for the pizza to come out. So I waited drowning myself in Dr Pepper. When my pizza came out it looked good but I noticed the Italian Sausage was shaven pieces. I first thought I was eating a flat "Philly Steak Sandwich" A lot of cheese was on the pizza to me and sauce that for me to eat my pizza I had to scrape cheese and sauce off each slice before I ate it. Before my pizza came out I saw another table had ordered chicken wings and garlic knots. Which I will try next time. My pizza was good but I would rather have what I ordered light cheese and light sauce. Italian food is very rich for my system and I'm not a huge fan of cheese. But I will return for another meal someday. My Create your own pizza cheese medium pizza was $12.00 the Italian Sausage cost was $1.60 with my Dr Pepper $3.00 Sub Total $16.60 Tax $1.25 Dine in Total $ 17.85 I gave my waitress $22.00 her...
