When life throws you a curveball, sometimes youāre lucky and it all works out. That is what happened when my son and I went to lunch at a place nearby and it was closed. Julieās just happened to be right around the corner, and boy were we lucky.
I can tell you we both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch there. Service was great, parking was easy, and the food was more fabulous than I expected. I mean, it was really really good.
The ambience is certainly in the deli space, and from the outside it doesnāt look like much, but inside doesnāt look like much either. But the food sets it apart.
OK, Iāve talked about food, so Iām sure you wanna hear about it (if youāre still reading):
Tzatziki sauce - homemade made really well done. Fries - extra crispy with a hint of salt, and Iām not a big fry person, but I love these. Potato salad ā delightful side, canāt go wrong. Gyro Wrap - marinated lamb, so tender you can cut it with a fork, wrapped in a pita. Gyro Platter - the same as the sandwich, but with pita chips and may be a little more lamb. I really couldnāt believe how tender the lamb was, and how well it was spiced. I think my son and I were both shocked at how good the food was.
Now, donāt go expecting some eyebrow food, this is a deli. Thereās burgers, theyāre sandwiches, but I would stick to the Middle Eastern food that they serve because I think they really do it well. .
I am not sure I would drive an hour to get here, especially across one of the Bridges. But if you were in the neighborhood, I can thoroughly recommend Julieās as a good lunch option.
They also have breakfast, in case I get the hanker in one day, Iāll write another review on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to this place for takeout breakfast and was blown away. I asked for an English muffin with my meal and I thought "darn I forgot to ask for butter..." Little did I know, they went the extra mile to already put butter.... Not just that, I thought, "Man! Not just butter, but jelly, forgot to ask" and they added a packet of jelly_ which I put in my grits, don't judge_ but I was excited. LOL I know it was there for my bread but I used it for my grits. The very last thing I was gonna be that morning, was a grumpy, hungry, tired woman, HAHA. They made my morning! The service was timely and the food was GREAT! I really like this place a lot, and everyone's friendly. : ) Thank you! I will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped in for breakfast. Ordered ham and cheese omelet. Not fluffy, flat and runny with ham that was like you get in a sliced lunch type plastic bag. Rye bread toast seemed old. The worst was the grits. I know they're called grits, but they're not supposed to be gritty, these were. When I told the man at the counter about the grits he said that he realized he put too much grits in and offered to give me some hash browns, I declined, thinking that he knew the grits were bad and served them anyway. Also all the time I was there, owners were openly complaining about employees. Gave them the second star because they offered the hash browns, but will...
