Oxtail Spot — Restaurant in Jacksonville

My husband suggested this food truck and while he was in the area, I suggested he try it out. Neither of us were pleased. Cost: $50 for 2 oxtail plates Plate: Oxtails, white rice, cabbage and carrots, mac n cheese, cornbread cube Portions: Decent sized portions Flavor: Poor - nothing had a signature flavor that would make me want to eat there again. Everything seemed to have minimal seasoning. The food wasn't salty which is a good thing, but could've used a bit more herbs and spice. Overall Satisfaction: The oxtails were cut thin. I probably had 2 whole oxtails with a few small pieces that could be the end of the tail. They were small enough to fit into my mouth and didn't consist of any bone, just the gristle. The texture of the oxtail was a bit tough due to undercooking. I placed them in the Instant Pot to soften them up, which helped but with thin oxtails that weren't cooked long enough to begin with, they'll never be fall of the bone tender. The mac n cheese was very pale and missing a lot of cheese and flavor!! The cabbage and carrots were overcooked for my taste but had a good flavor and the cornbread is the standard Jiffy mix. Seriously if you want good oxtails the best placed I've found them in Jax is at The Soul Food Bistro Kitchen. Pritchard Road is a good distance from where I live so I won't be making a trip back to this food truck in the future. It's just...

Ordered 2 plates -1st plate ribs, mac and baked beans. 2nd plate oxtails, cabbage, and mac n cheese. My experience was not satisfying no cornbread, ribs was still pinkish, cabbage had no flavor, mac n cheese taste very sour and appeared not fully cooked, baked beans more chucks of meats than beans. My total bill was $40 something dollars not worth it!. Don't believe the hype...you see online. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but for me this is first and last time, I will never buy anything again from thr oxtail spot, first impression...

I passed by there a few times in the past and decided to stop by today to check it out and patronize the place. To my surprise it was delicious. The seasoning on all the foods was amazing. I ordered the oxtails, jerk chicken, mac and cheese, greens with cornbread plate. When i tell you the plate was about to break when she gave it to me.
