Pho 99 Vietnamese Grill Jacksonville — Restaurant in Jacksonville

When I say I use to love eating at Pho 99 all the time this was my go to spot in Jacksonville. Not to long ago I stop going on blanding, because the servers were rude and I wouldn't get my food on time. I ended up going to another location, which was my favorite spot, but it got to hectic on the gas tank. Recently, I found this spot on Lane which was perfect, because this is my gem spot to go to. I was so excited to see the owner again. I really missed her and her staff because they do an amazing job everytime. The food for me was a 10/10, the quality and presentation was excellent, the bathrooms were clean, my coconut boba was perfection, and my pho was definitely seasoned in broth. I look forward to more service from my friend.

So usually this is my go to spot but today I decide to come in my natural form and comfortable out of work clothes..my girl was having some pains today so I didn't try to disturb her; nether less, I didn't like how I was treated today. When I came in it took 7mins for someone to bring me a menu. I get the team was a lot younger today but I didn't like the way the young lady saw me come in and didn't care to even ask if I needed a menu. I tried to brush it off but then other people got service before me and I prayed on it because I believe the best is always last but when the cook came out he skipped right pass me and introduced himself to everyone else. I nodded because whatever difference we have doesn't need to affect the kind of services received outside of nationality. Needless to say I ate enough of my food to get me by as I return to work on my new home but I don't think I will be returning. I wish my friend and her business the best and I'm praying others like myself have a better experience from here out. P.s. To the younger gentleman that served me (Matty) is what I will call him and that gentleman that brought out my food thank you for being nice to me you never know what kind of day a person is having especially a person who battles with suicidal thoughts. Worst place to eat! We have 4 people and only food for 3 came out. After 30 mins they say the food is coming. Then the viet waitress says it takes a long time to make salt and pepper squid. Yeah right?! It's not like we never had this dish before. Ok we still wait. After another 15 mins we ask where is the food? She says she will check again. By that time, it has been 45 mins since we ordered..all of us are done with our food already. Then we decide we don't want to wait anymore. We told the nice waitress name Rebecca to take that off the bill and give us the bill. Then the bill came and I was getting ready to pay, the viet lady then brings out the salt and pepper squid. I said we don't want it anymore. She got all upset and say "I told you I will go check. And I see he didn't make so I tell the chef hurry and make." So I looked at her like hello..first u told us it takes a long time to make but now u told me u told your chef to hurry and make. After 45 mins we decided not to wait for it and now you get all upset with us? Then u shouldn't have lied that your chef was making it. Then she got the audacity to demand us to pack it to go. Hello?!!? My family has already lost his appetite and packing salt and pepper fried squid home will be soggy by the time we get home and with your attitude demanding us to pack to go without any apologies...heck no. We were there to celebrate my daughter's bday and she has to ruin the mood. Few years back, this place was alright but now we gotten to try their food again and it has gone down the drain. Soup was not hot, service was slow..I mean very slow...and it's the lies and attitude that was the biggest issue here. We will never come back!! Go there if u want poor service and COLD food. Well we still put 16% tips for the original waitress. We felt bad that she got yelled at because of their incompetent chef and viet waitress with poor attitude and...

We have been to this restaurant several times and had good service and food. Today was like going to a totally unfamiliar place. The orders we put in took a long time to receive, they shorted us on items and still charged full price and the service staff was unhygienic. Waiter gave us bowls and soup spoons by holding the scooping portion instead of the handle, our Vietnamese special salad was too spicy to eat and only had 4 shrimp toast. I requested more and waiter said they don't have anymore. Huh? Aren't you a restaurant and it's not like shrimp chips are expensive! We had no water which was ordered from the beginning and our boba tea and smoothie didn't come out until I reminded them which was near the end of our meal. The boba tea had no pearl balls in it and when I questioned him about that, he said they ran out. I asked are we going to be charged full price and he said those pearls are free so yes. So, you charge customer full price for partial quantity. They did not even tell us that they were missing the ingredient and just brought it out like that. But the straw that broke the camel's back was the way the waiter kept picking at his teeth as he walked from the table to kitchen. It was a disgusting site. If you do this in public, I can't imagine what goes on behind the kitchen. Never again will we...
