I'm surprised I've never eaten here before, and if anyone has told me about it, I must not have been listening. A simple menu where the attention to detail is placed on the flavor and preparation of the food. The staff member that took our order was very helpful and courteous. Even though this night was rather slow and there were plenty of available seats, we opted to sit next door at The Mission where they had open mic night going on. They walked our order right over and delivered it to our table. That's pretty cool.
We ordered the burger and the fish tacos. The burger was good sized, placed on a toasted bun with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. I also had them add jalapenos. There was a sauce added on the underside which was flavorful but didnt dominate the taste of the burger. It was cooked evenly through and the burger itself had good taste and wasn't dried out or overly greasy.
The fish tacos had a good amount of fish and the tastes and texture worked out great. Nothing seemed over cooked or lacking seasoning.

Read moreJQ's had been on my list a while, and I finally got there moving week. We actually went twice! The first time, they were out of pork and hotdogs, which is what I wanted, so we went back for lunch. I got the Street Corn Dawg with their famous baked beans. The dawg was gigantic and full of flavor. I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The beans were so good. They were thick, I don't like runny baked beans, and had pulled pork in them... could be a meal by themselves. Hubs got the nachos. They were piled high and the pork was so good. We also got the 5 wing special with the sweet and apicy D.A.T honey. He had a kick you may not expect and I love the jumbo wing over a party wing. They have both inside and outside seating. It was a beautiful day for sitting outside. The decor inside is very cool and interesting with all the memorabilia. The service was excellent and the staff were so helpful with recommendations and letting us try a taste of things before purchase....
Read moreAt a friend's recommendation for the best burger he'sever had, I decided to try this place on my trip through Jefferson City.
The building is tiny when you look for it and there isn't a lot of seating. I called ahead and ordered the fat boy burger and the baked beans at the server's suggestion.
The restaurant itself is really cozy, and the guys behind the counter were friendly. The food came quickly, and I loved all the veggies that came with the buger. The baked beans had peppers and onions and bits of meat.
While the burger was good, I found it to be really salty. It was perfectly cooked, and the sauce they use is delicious but just too much salt. I will have to try it again because I'm sure that was an accident.
Those baked beans, though! Oh my goodness, were they good! Smoky, rich, and just enough bite to the beans, not mushy at all. I would go back just for them! All in all, I can't wait to go back and try the burger again and some of...
