Been twice, same thing two times in a row. Inside is nice, a bit overdone, a little tacky but nice ambiance. The service was fine. But the food is very bland and way overpriced. It was all somewhat edible for the most part but the quality didn’t even close to match up to the price tag. Flavors were immature and basic.
I don’t mind paying a premium for good food. I do it all the time. I also love going to a dive bar and eating cheap food with cheap beer. This place is trying to gussy up cheap food to sell it at premium prices.
Went here for the game last night because tavern on the rocks is undergoing renovations. Waited at the bar for my sister in law and her fiancé to arrive. Ordered a Yuengling and my wife got a seltzer because she was driving. Our table is ready, so I square up and they charged me $4 for a soda fountain seltzer! Not a bottle of San Peligirino. $4 for some bubbles in tap water, are you kidding me?
Wings were fine cook wise, but nothing special and at over $2 a wing (!!!!) they better be something special. Got classic buffalo wings and the Argentinian wings. Buffalo was exactly as expected. Chimichuri wings sounded interesting but they were considerably under salted and the flavors they tried to put together didn’t make any sense together, there was nothing connecting them. Just bland. On top of that they don’t even make their dressings in house! That is the sign of a lazy chef cutting corners, something I don’t expect when I’m paying $14 for 6 wings.
The pretzel was again, just okay. Bland. Barely any lye zing to it, was just bread with salt. Beer cheese was velveta based and very boring. It’s like the chef is asking what’s the bare minimum I can do to make this qualify as a pretzel and beer cheese.
My wife’s burger was disgusting. Overcooked, under seasoned and dry as the Sahara. Burger patty looked like one of those pre fabbed ones, so they’re probably not grinding their meat fresh. And most importantly way overpriced for what it was.
I will say the Pizza was halfway decent. Cooked well. Plentiful toppings. Sauce was eh, but the cheese was good quality and everything was seasoned well on the spicy meatball pie.
Overall, way too expensive for generic bar food that matches the interior: gimmicky, overdone, and somehow boring and forgettable at the same time. Keep driving to the J town tavern or Kroughs in Lake Mohawk. Way cheaper, twice the quality and has an...
Read moreWARNING to Football Fans!! Long story short I’m mom with three kids and I don’t get an occasion for a babysitter often and us being real JETS Fans we took the time and money to go to a nearby game. Unfortunately we had to leave early so instead of being disappointed, leaving the historic jets game and first win against Eagles lol, we decide to make the best of it and at least watch the highlights at Tap15. Me being the dd and driving more than an hour I was looking forward to having one drink but before even ordering we were told to tone it down and we’re cut off. So without a warning or a chance to redeem ourselves because we are wearing Jets gear excited for such a historic occasion? And my friend is the most high energetic but also positive hype person and we’re not yelling or cursing or being aggressive. And it’s an empty bar and we’re not allowed to have one warning to prove we can actually be very quiet? I wanted an explanation because I am passionate about my rights as a paying customer and anyone else who also had worked in the customer service industry for 15 years would know this. Manager Christina/Karen didn’t bother to respond with any evidence, she is allowed to discriminate based on her personal bias because it is her discretion. And proceeds to get emotionally aggressive when I questioned her authority complex. And then threatens to call the cops and proceeds to kick us out. Wow I’m just baffled all this over one Malibu Baybreeze. I’m sorry Manager Karen maybe next time give a warning and give others the benefit of the doubt. If you gave us one drink you could have assessed how fast we drank with all the food we were planning on ordering like a professional would have. God I hope the rest of you die hard football fans take this as a fair warning. You’re lucky the Jets won or this would have been really...
Read moreOk. So I used to come here long before the pandemic. I even introduced some people to it and recommended it. So, feeling at loose ends, I stopped in for a few hours on a Saturday. It was multiple times busier than it used to be, but that's been common since the pandemic, and good for the place. The food was really good, as always, and the beer selection carefully curated. So why the low rating? ABYSMAL service at the bar. One of the worst I've ever experienced. Three bartenders, and each did their absolute best to avoid me. It took five minutes to get acknowledged, twenty to get my first beer. One of the three bartenders never said a word to me, despite passing by multiple times. The other two treated me like something they scraped off their shoe. The female bartender managed not to let me flag her down four times in a row. I felt like I needed to be doing semaphore, and even then she would ignore me. Yet they had time to put glasses in the dishwasher, polish coasters, and watch the Final Four. They even followed up multiple times with the other customers without prompting, even if the customer was right next to me. Honestly, it ruined my night and made me wish I'd stayed home. The service used to be one of the more pleasant aspects of going here, but these Three Musketeers should be summarily fired. They do not belong in food service. I considered undertipping, but I've worked in the industry before and know how hard the job is. But honestly, it will be a long time before I go back, and if I see any of the three from tonight on duty I'll probably just walk out. To anyone reading these, food and beer selection matter. But service will make or break a place. I know there's a worker shortage, but if you overlook the quality of service you'll find yourselves out of business before you even know...
