Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Jefferson

We have been going to this DQ location for years and love what they do for the community, but today was our last visit. This is the third visit in a row where we witnessed female managers berating the kids working there in front of customers. It shouldn’t be happening at all or behind closed doors, but the fact that it happens and happens in front of customers is inappropriate. My wife, kids, and I will not be back. I was shocked to see the manager snap on a kid for just trying to help. A few weeks ago, we saw two young kids up front working and the manager borderline screaming at them. I said something to that manager the last two times and today, a different manager was doing it too. These instances were all female managers but I didn’t get their names. If they can’t talk to people without being snippy and nagging, they shouldn't be in management positions. Looks like a problem across the board. Owners need to deal with this. The community doesn’t want to see teenagers getting yelled at by managers at an ice cream place. My wife and kids were so uncomfortable that we left. We won’t be back. It’s a shame because the owners are nice people and the food is always great but I can’t support a business...

I'll admit, fast food isn't my first choice, but this day I stopped by and ordered at the drive through. I'll start by saying, the young lady that greeted me was very happy and so bubbly. Much needed improvement for the lull I was feeling as I was on my way to visit my mom. She's been diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia. I'm due to leave town today so this was an extra special visit for me. My mom requested a cheese burger meal with a chocolate shake. (That's what she got). I was worried that the food would be less than fresh when I drove the 20+ minutes to her house. When I served my mom her lunch her first response was " Wow, this is still so warm. It's really good." We are from Gainesville and we stopped by this DQ on our way through Jackson County. We ordered two kid cups with sprinkles and we wanted a cone added on the side. We did not get the cones and we were charged for a kid DIPPED cone, which is $2.19.When we mentioned it to the cashier at the drive thru, she told us that a kid cup with sprinkles was three dollars. So we took the kid cups and left. I just called and spoke with the manager on duty. I asked her what the price was for the kid cups. They are $1.89. I told her we were from Hall County and we didnt get the cones with our order AND we were overcharged and the cashier tried telling us that it was more.She said she would give us .40 cent back.
