El Huasteco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Jefferson

I've been a regular at this place for years. Recently, I've already been disappointed at the prices increasing and the portions decreasing. Last night, I ordered carryout food for my family. I always emphasize (NO TOMATOES in the fajitas) due to my having a food allergy. When we got home with the food, we found tomatoes all in them. I called them to let them know and they told me to bring it back and they would "fix it" for me. I told them, I'm allergic, you can't just fix it by picking the tomatoes out.

They said they would have a new one ready when I got there. I arrived and told the waitress I was there to get my replacement dish. She opened the one I brought back at the prep window and said, "what, you no like tomatoes?" I told her I am allergic and I can get sick for days if I eat them. She opened up a new one that appeared to be my replacement (it had no tomatoes), but then said it wasn't mine. She told me mine would be ready soon.

Ten minutes later, she brought a container out and showed me it had no tomatoes. When I got it home, the meat was completely dry and the veggies were practically raw. This was very poor service period, but especially for someone who brings them a lot of business.

Also, they quoted 20-25 minutes. When we got there 35-40 minutes later, the food still wasn't ready. With this horrible experience, they just lost one of...

I was here for the first time, my family and I were looking for a good restaurant since we live in the area. this is the worst Mexican restaurant we have been so far. starting with -The chips where to greasy and hard like they have been re fried. -My husband got a side order of beans and rice, it was literally a tablespoon full of beans for $4.89 a "TABLESPOON". i did complain about it and their answer was that, the price is in the menu and that is the amount for a side order. I think this is outrageous. -My plate the chicken gourmet, had vegetables that were sour, the description of the plate said with chipotle sauce but it just had a chipotle paper on top. My daughter ordered the kids cheeseburger, it was cold and the meet seem that they just warmed it up in the microwave for 30 sec that the cheese was cold, and she got SICK, she started vomiting that night. -The waitress was nice at first, but before I even complain about the beans, she forgot about us, we needed drink refills and she was just chatting with the guys at the bar. So please DON'T take your family here, I think a $5 pizza from little Cesar's will be awesome compare to this place. I wish I would have taken a picture of...

I have frequented many Mexican restaurants in the area and this is the absolute worst. The air is hot and stagnant in the dinning room with no air circulation at all. Our waiter tended poorly to our needs by rarely refilling our drinks and did not check on us hardly at all such as when our food came out. Our group of 6 had to wait 40 minutes for dinner. On top of the wait time, our food was incorrect and they neglected to fix it. The food that was brought out correct was lukewarm at best. Our waiter neglected to bring out our check after we finished our meal and disapperead at the end of our stay. An employee came by and asked "how is everything?" after our waiter left. We notified him of our horrible service and very reasonably asked if he would adjust our price. He said "okay" and walked off and did not notify the management or anyone at all.
