I've come here a few times. Unfortunately, my experiences have not impressed me & have gotten worse each experience. This is the closest restaurant to my house, so I've continued because of it's convenience. I will not be going again. The first time I went, I brought my parents out. We all enjoyed the food. The portions were very small, but we didn't mind much because the food was good (we all ordered pasta selections). The beer/wine selection is good & I enjoyed the atmosphere, so I decided to try it again a few months later.
My next experience was OK. I am a vegetarian & I knew before going that the options were limited--but I was excited to try the veggie burger. The veggie burger was very bland (especially compared to so many amazing places in Burlington & what we make homemade). It tasted like something I could buy frozen. My boyfriend got a salmon selection. The salmon was a little dry, but he said it was overall okay, but was a little pricey for the quality and quantity.
We tried going again recently, this time I ordered a salad, which tasted great (it's kind of hard to mess up a salad...), but it was very small for a $12 salad. My boyfriend's order was messed up & he did not get the appetizer he ordered. Instead, he got one that was $4 more expensive that he did not want to eat. We were very kind when the manager asked how our meal was, we explained he had gotten the wrong selection. The waitress also asked about it & we told them not to worry about swapping it out, it was okay, and he'll try to eat it. We figured that since the manager knew of the mistake, they would at the very least charge us for the item my boyfriend actually ordered. When we got the bill, we were very surprised they not only charged us for their mess up, but also the more expensive item. We decided not to make a fuss about it, and just vowed to never return.
I would not suggest going here if you're a vegetarian, or if you are looking for quantity/quality for your buck. It'll now be worth my drive to Burlington for higher...
Read moreWe visited without reservation which did not present a problem. A very friendly waitress tended to us and after receiving our drinks told us the chefs specials. I was excited about the butternut squash soup with grand marnier and not dissapointed!! Like satin and perfectly seasoned! My partner had a New England. Clam chowder and throughly enjoyed it as well after I asked the waitress to serve it before the burger,as I was waiting to eat mine. We ordered a medium rare cheeseburger and a Ceasar salad with medium rare salmon. After the soup we had high expectations. The cheeseburger was overcooked and actually burned on some of the outside. ( not just charred, but burned and hard) my salmon was bland and cooked through. The Ceasar salad was way to big, albeit tasty. To give credit, the burger was taken off the bill after he mentioned it to the waitressing chose not to mention mine, she offered to have it re done, but he was nor interested. Without letting us know, which I thought was a nice gesture the burger was taken of the bill. Both of us, as well as other patrons we have observed- struggled to read the menus as the lighting was to dim. We ordered a key lime pie and chocolate mouse to go. It would have been nice to have napkins and a couple of forks to eat with, but we enjoyed the dessert at home then. In my opinion prices are to much on the high side considering all. I enjoyed the ambiance of the building. The fireplace in the wall is...
Read moreVisited Jericho with a relatively large group and had a fantastic experience.
Service: We arrived at about 10:30AM and they were mildly busy when we arrived , however our party was seated in a private room within five minutes. The restaurant is quite large, so there's a good chance when you come in you'll have a table. If you have a large party this is certainly the best spot to go, with or without a reservation.
Our server (who's name escapes me currently) was very personable and made a point to cater to the table and personalities along with it. She was bubbly and made a point to engage with the table, despite being relatively busy; thus making it a truly enjoyable experience. Drinks were served promptly and orders were taken within a reasonable amount of time.
Food: I ordered the corned beef hash and my wife ordered the breakfast sandwich. The food came out in about 16 minutes and was still hot. Only qualm was the server messed up a few orders so we'll give her a ding for that, but she was quite apologetic and offered to replace them to make things right.
Atmosphere: Makes your feel like you're truly experiencing what Vermont has to offer. The rustic decor gives you a homie feeling, making it a relaxing dining experience. If you're from out of town, this is a must.
Overall: If you're looking for a local spot with consistency all around, Jericho...
