Our first visit to the Jericho Cafe on a Saturday night March 2nd, we sat at a high top table in the Bar/dining area and enjoyed the live jazz sounds provided by The Bob Gagnon Quartet. Really loved the saxophone and the bass guitar, and the soft drum rhythms. Great Music! The service was thoughtful, giving us ample time to enjoy the meal, and answered questions about the menu and food preparation. The menu had so many choices, we will Have To Return. We had the Kale salad with beets and blue cheese, and that night's special $$$$, a plate with 4 perfectly grilled lamb chops and sweet heritage carrots. We paired the dishes with a wine and a hard cider, that were bright enough to keep up with the main course flavors. It was a dining "celebration", we thoroughly enjoyed! Then we did something we rarely do, we ordered dessert. : ) How could we not, this was a 5 star night so far. And the variety of dessert choices did not disappoint. We ordered the mocha creme brule' and the lemon mousse. WOW! We have found our muse' for creme brule'. We had lost faith after a couple years of disapointing brule' experiences. But the Mocha creme brule' alone was worth a 3 hour drive from Concord NH. Thank-you Jericho Tavern for a memorable evening of dining, visiting, live music, great service, and amazing food! This place was suggested by the Old Red Mill Snowflake Bentley Museum. This is an upbeat deli, restaurant and bar. It was not busy when I got there at about 4:00pm. I hadn't had lunch so I decided to have soup and tacos. The soup was butternut squash and it was excellent! And I never say that! Tacos we're huge and quite interesting flavored. They're so so big I had to use a fork and take one home The service wasn't very quick. Even having a glass of wine took a while. I noticed that the couple next to me was served both their salad and their burgers at the same time. I suspect that the server was not very well trained because the people were shocked. When you put that much food in front of someone at the same time it's overwhelming and unprofessional. When the hosted me, he put my menu down forcing me to look outside at the blank snow covered field. I chose not to sit that way and rathered to engage with watching the people come in and out. There was plenty of gossip to listen to from the staff at the bar. Apparently they had gotten a new sound system and they were going to have trivia night that evening but I was too early. I might stop in again.

I've come here a few times. Unfortunately, my experiences have not impressed me & have gotten worse each experience. This is the closest restaurant to my house, so I've continued because of it's convenience. I will not be going again. The first time I went, I brought my parents out. We all enjoyed the food. The portions were very small, but we didn't mind much because the food was good (we all ordered pasta selections). The beer/wine selection is good & I enjoyed the atmosphere, so I decided to try it again a few months later.

My next experience was OK. I am a vegetarian & I knew before going that the options were limited--but I was excited to try the veggie burger. The veggie burger was very bland (especially compared to so many amazing places in Burlington & what we make homemade). It tasted like something I could buy frozen. My boyfriend got a salmon selection. The salmon was a little dry, but he said it was overall okay, but was a little pricey for the quality and quantity.

We tried going again recently, this time I ordered a salad, which tasted great (it's kind of hard to mess up a salad...), but it was very small for a $12 salad. My boyfriend's order was messed up & he did not get the appetizer he ordered. Instead, he got one that was $4 more expensive that he did not want to eat. We were very kind when the manager asked how our meal was, we explained he had gotten the wrong selection. The waitress also asked about it & we told them not to worry about swapping it out, it was okay, and he'll try to eat it. We figured that since the manager knew of the mistake, they would at the very least charge us for the item my boyfriend actually ordered. When we got the bill, we were very surprised they not only charged us for their mess up, but also the more expensive item. We decided not to make a fuss about it, and just vowed to never return.

I would not suggest going here if you're a vegetarian, or if you are looking for quantity/quality for your buck. It'll now be worth my drive to Burlington for higher...

We visited without reservation which did not present a problem. A very friendly waitress tended to us and after receiving our drinks told us the chefs specials. I was excited about the butternut squash soup with grand marnier and not dissapointed!! Like satin and perfectly seasoned! My partner had a New England. Clam chowder and throughly enjoyed it as well after I asked the waitress to serve it before the burger,as I was waiting to eat mine. We ordered a medium rare cheeseburger and a Ceasar salad with medium rare salmon. After the soup we had high expectations. The cheeseburger was overcooked and actually burned on some of the outside. ( not just charred, but burned and hard) my salmon was bland and cooked through. The Ceasar salad was way to big, albeit tasty. To give credit, the burger was taken off the bill after he mentioned it to the waitressing chose not to mention mine, she offered to have it re done, but he was nor interested. Without letting us know, which I thought was a nice gesture the burger was taken of the bill. Both of us, as well as other patrons we have observed- struggled to read the menus as the lighting was to dim. We ordered a key lime pie and chocolate mouse to go. It would have been nice to have napkins and a couple of forks to eat with, but we enjoyed the dessert at home then. In my opinion prices are to much on the high side considering all. I enjoyed the ambiance of the building. The fireplace in the wall is...

Visited Jericho with a relatively large group and had a fantastic experience.

Service: We arrived at about 10:30AM and they were mildly busy when we arrived , however our party was seated in a private room within five minutes. The restaurant is quite large, so there's a good chance when you come in you'll have a table. If you have a large party this is certainly the best spot to go, with or without a reservation.

Our server (who's name escapes me currently) was very personable and made a point to cater to the table and personalities along with it. She was bubbly and made a point to engage with the table, despite being relatively busy; thus making it a truly enjoyable experience. Drinks were served promptly and orders were taken within a reasonable amount of time.

Food: I ordered the corned beef hash and my wife ordered the breakfast sandwich. The food came out in about 16 minutes and was still hot. Only qualm was the server messed up a few orders so we'll give her a ding for that, but she was quite apologetic and offered to replace them to make things right.

Atmosphere: Makes your feel like you're truly experiencing what Vermont has to offer. The rustic decor gives you a homie feeling, making it a relaxing dining experience. If you're from out of town, this is a must.

Overall: If you're looking for a local spot with consistency all around, Jericho...
