TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer services!!! My family and I (my husband and two kids)came here to eat some pizza but when we got here we had one hour before They closed at 10:00pm. As soon as we walked in I noticed a white heavy set older lady with glasses, shaking her head like saying oh...no...since they only had one hour to close like she was bothered that we came in at 9pm, (they should be thankful to get some business even if itâs late)we still walked in had a seat and a younger heavyset white girl with glasses brought us our menu and my husband asked her if it was still OK to order and sheâs said well weâre closing soon so itâs ok as long as we leave by 10 oâclock. She brought us some drinks and we knew what we wanted so we ordered immediately. Our order took about 35 minutes so we nearly finished our sodas before our pizzas got to us. The last 15 minutes we were there trying to eat My husband and I noticed the older white lady with glasses was just looking towards our table to see if we were almost done, she came over to our table but JUST to give us the check, my husband decided to go ahead and pay her with the tip included as well even though the service wasnât completed so she can go ahead and close the register like she said they were. So our bill was paid...and she came back again to tell us if we wanted to go plates because it was 10:00pm and they needed to leave. We said sure....actually she was just looking to see where were done eating I asked her if she can give my husband a refill on his soda So she went and got the refill on one cup and I needed a refill as well and my two kids did too but I did not asked her since she seemed bothered when I Asked her for one refill. I told my kids not to bother her and they can get up and go go get their own refill from the soda fountain. But after 5 minutes my son goes to the soda fountain machine to get his refill but the lady at the register says oh where are you going the soda machines is already closed sorry and they didnât even much offered to get him anything to drink neither did they come ask us if we wanted refills on our EMPTY CUPS we were still eating but with no soda to drink nothing to wash down our food NOT even water my two kids and myself had to share my husbands drink. We were thirsty and did NOT get any kind of refill NO ONE even bothered to ask if we wanted anything to drink... they were too concerned about getting us out of there by 10 oâclock because thatâs the time they wanted to leave!!! We were upset regarding that because my kid needed something to drink and I did too after eating pizza so since we had already paid we got a to go box for our leftovers pizza and I told the lady that it was very rude not to offer us any refills or if we needed anything. One lady ( the same one who told my son that the soda fountain was closed)I think it was the manager But not sure, said did you not get any refills she acted surprised and I said NO!! So she offered us soda to go, but we kindly said no thank you not anymore and weâre not coming back here anymore this was a horrible service even the heavyset white old lady said she would give us 10% if we came back early the next day really you could do better than that!!! 10% is just probably the taxes!!! We left a tip for the worst service ever BECAUSE we paid early actually if we wouldnât have paid early I donât think you would have left a tip my husband told them because they left us without anything to drink we had nothing to drink but share my husbands drink since I had ordered it when the waitress the older lady came by just to try to hurry Us up and see if we needed boxes to go because they were about to closes. VERY BAD...
Read moreI posted another review about my bad experience and it seems that it disappeared. I will never go back to the Russo's New York Pizzeria on West Little York. It had been about my favorite place to go. I have been going there since they first opened. It was my favorite place at one time. I had initially gone to one of the first ones here in Houston. I took my son when he was probably 12. It was his first time to have a calzone. He thought it was great back then. I was so impressed then. I was happy to have one open just down the street from me. Sadly, this place changed my mind about going to any of the Russo's. I had friends in from out of town. I took them over there. One of my friends ordered the meatballs. Those things were about as hard as golf balls. They tasted kind of like liver. Previously the meatballs were fabulous. I asked the manager what happened to the recipe. She said that the franchise changed the recipe. My other friend ordered the lasagna. It might has well been a frozen container that they heated up. Not tasty. My dish was no better.
As an adult, my son had been going to this one on W. Little York since it opened. He would order the largest one for big events. We took friends up there. Maybe the COVID scare changed the franchise. The pizza sauce is different. No longer tasty. He no longer goes there because it has gone downhill. Whether it is the franchise trying to destroy the business or this particular restaurant unable to produce good food, it is sad. I am looking for a new great place and I think I found it, but it is a lot...
Read moreOne of the worst dinners my husband and I have had. Weâre used to eating good food from Russoâs midtown and thought we would try this location. Save yourself the money and stomachache!!! I initially ordered the shrimp pasta in a spicy chili marinara sauce called, Shrimp fra Diavolo. And when they brought me pasta swimming in tomato chunks and tomato juice I was quickly disappointed. Like opening a can of crushed tomatoes, adding water, shrimps and thatâs it. No salt, no herbs, not spicy, nothing! They also brought this white bread out that tasted like nothing, Iâve never tasted anything like that in my life đ¤Śââď¸. To put it mildly it was gross. I called a waitress and advised her of my issue and decided to try the spaghetti and meat ball instead. When it came out it looked like the sauce from the previous plate with small meat chunks and tasted like Chef Boyardee đŁ. There were also two big meatballs that were so dense and room temp in the center. It was honestly one of the worst dinners Iâve had eating out. When I told them I couldnât stomach it, they said they could take 15% off that plate only, although they did remove the atrocity of the shrimp dish from my bill. My husband ordered the pizza and said he wished we could have gone to Dominos instead! The service wasnât the worse weâve had, but it wasnât enough to save the experience at all. Mr. Russo needs to visit this location and see whatâs...
