Gooey's Pizza Jesup — Restaurant in Jesup

Food is great and always delivered hot and fresh. The employees there are great and friendly. I’ve been a customer for awhile and have always enjoyed their food, they were my go to when needing delivery. This is definitely my last time getting food delivered to my job. Paid $23 for a regular sized sub and the tiny bag of lays chips that you get in bulk from Sams or Costco. Apparently the owner raised their delivery surcharge to $5.50, which $0 of that goes to the delivery driver. The Italian sub is $11 which is cool with me. Then add the 4% credit card fee, ehhh nothing you can do about that. So my question is if I’m getting charged a $5.50 “delivery surcharge” why isn’t the delivery driver receiving the money? That’s poor business practice and outright morally wrong for the driver. I will be ordering from elsewhere and I am sure a lot of my coworkers will be as well. Old review underneath: Dunno what’s happening to my favorite pizza joint. Food just doesn’t seem as good, crust is soggy, sauce isn’t consistent, I dunno. Maybe Jessie needs to come back to see if he can resolve the issues. I’ll come back in a couple months to see if it gets any better. I hope it does.....

I just moved here 2 years ago with work and found the Best little pizza place within 45 min. Food is fresh, the people are pleasant, prices are comparable to pizza hut, they are locally ran, the owner was prior US military (military discount), beer is cold if you wish but it definitely isn't a bar, if you dine in your kids may get to be greeted by their mascot (if you call ahead the chances are higher). We stopped here one night after a high school basketball game. We submitted our order online and designated a pick up time. When we arrived our order was not ready. We ended up waiting about 20 - 30 minutes. We order a few pizza and wings. I ordered the Meaty pizza with lemon pepper wings. My sister ordered with same pizza with mild wings (all flats, ). The pizza was good. My biggest disappointment was that they gave me ALL drummettes. All wing lovers know that unless you order your wings pieces a certain way, you should receive an equal mix of flats and drummettes. Also, the wings didn't have much lemon pepper flavor. I had to put them in the oven a lil over and sprinkle a bit more seasoning on them. I'd try the pizza again, but...
