Went there for the 1st and last time today. After ordering and a little bit of a wait we were brought my French toast and my husband ordered the western omelette, he said that’s weird toast and I commented that it was rye, did he order rye? he said no and took a bite of his omelette, the server (lady in pink shirt) came back and said she served him the wrong omelette and just looked at him, he said I already took a bite, I asked what kind it was and she said Vegi and maybe she expected him to say that’s fine but it wasn’t so she picked up his plate and gave him a very rude look like it was his fault. When she brought his omelette she put it down and again with the sour face no apologies or smile but just walked away. I was so mad I could finish my food. Same server asked the man in the booth behind us if he would like more coffee he said one more cup, she went and retrieved the pot walked right past us served the coffee, my husband in hopes of getting more put his cup closer to that side of the table and she walked right by. Our server, the young man with bright red hair also never bother to...

Honestly, save your money, don't go here. We were extremely displeased and overall disappointed. The place is run down and disgusting; there are literally pieces of ceiling peeling off. The food is not great, honestly the worst grits I've ever had, and I think it's due to the water. I got a glass of water and was extremely metallic and terrible taste. That has me concerned for everything they cook and explains the terrible taste of grits. The bacon was majorly overdone, like turns to ash on consumption, and biscuits on the verge of being burnt. This may be due to the fact the cook was chit chatting with some random person who walked in the back for an hour. The other staff were okay a best the lady who checked us out just seemed annoyed at our existance and they were complaining they haven't been able to find the cook for over 20 minutes and had a line of tickets waiting. So, to conclude, the place needs some love and repairs. The water/pipes need to be checked asap, and the staff may need some retraining or replacement.

TLDR; I wouldn't eat here unless you...

I stopped by because I heard some good things from friends of mine about the food. I was pleasantly surprised when the Omelet came out and only needed a bit of salt and pepper. Very nice for diner fare, and the portion was generous to say the least. I ordered biscuits as the bread in lieu of the toast. They were good as well, I assume that they're made in house. Every frozen biscuit I've ever had was very sweet to me, these were not. I asked for a bowl of sausage gravy for the biscuits and the server said sure, but it'll just take a few minutes. I believe it was made to order, and very tasty! A bit of pepper and it was perfect. Was it as good as my mom's? No. Was it as good as other diner gravy I've had in the past? It was much better. The young man working there was on top of everything and worked hard to take care of his...

To me this is a dive!! Which we LOVE! Small, tight inside. You can pretty much listen to everyone's conversation which we joined in on one! Lol! Our meals were great! They were very busy. We noticed one of regular customer, took his own dirty plates to the back to be washed. Then there was people that left and this same person got up and cleaned off the table for the next people to sit down. He said they take care of me and I will help them when they are busy. Go show your suppose unless you are looking for fine dining, don't. But I love it!

First time at Penny Man's, a local favorite. The food was quite good for a standard breakfast (eggs, sausage, biscuits, and grits), and the price is definitely right: One of the least expensive places in town to get a full breakfast. My only complaint would be for the grits, which were a little watery and under-seasoned, but everything else was good, and the biscuits were large and delicious. Will definitely be back and bring some friends.
