J J Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Joliet

My son and I liked the potato wedges but I didn't expect to have those with our order. I thought that they still served crinkle cut fries. We walked there and I had him strapped in his harness because I hadn't been there in over two years. I think my first visit there was better than this time around. The man who took the order was nice. But for some odd reason my food wasn't as good as it was before. At least he let us sit in the lobby, even though they say it's not allowed due to COVID-19 restrictions. But because I told him we don't have a car and that we walked there, he let me sit down with my son so I can wait on our order.

A bit skimpy on the chicken. I don't know what was wrong with the catfish nuggets but we hadn't eaten anything since breakfast that day and I went late in the afternoon after 3 pm! I ate a nice handful of the catfish nuggets but shortly after that I was going to the restroom. Something with that food gave me diarrhea.

Not trying to give TMI but this happened. My son ate some of the food too that didn't agree with him...

I use to give it a solid 4 & 1/2 stars but the quality of the food over the past 8 months has dropped. What once had very tender and we'll seasoned food is now always overcooked , chewy & under seasoned. I think they switched there meat vendor on the cheap and now the quality of the product has gone down a noticable amount. Sad cause it once was a hidden gem in s remote part of Joliet. Last I would like to say when you order your food over the phone no matter what meal you choose they always say ,"your order will be ready in 15 mins. It's never ready in 15 mins. You wind up waiting at there resteruant an additional 15 mins. Just be honest or more accurate with your cook times. Place also seems to get dirtier and dirtier every time I go in. The store looks like it needs a big time renovation. The restaurant has been going down hill over the years and it's now one of my last choices when it comes to bring a meal for me and my family...

The one on Larkin by Sam's club is awful please don't waste your money here. The chicken was over cooked and just thrown in a bag. The one off mills and Manhattan road is the best chicken in town its put in Styrofoam trays unless you order the family size then they put it in aluminum trays and they don't over cook it.
