Aware this location and the location’s owner discriminated against the ADA (American Disabilities Act). On Friday we asked to be seated on the outdoor patio with my service dog (an actual service dog, not an emotional support dog). The owner Cathy said she would not serve us because of the dog. I explained that it is a service dog. The owner Cathy once again said that she is refusing us service because of the dog, despite of the dog being a service dog. I asked the owner Cathy if a blind person came with a seeing eye dog if she would turn them away. Cathy’s answer, “no because that would be a “REAL” service dog. Being patient despite Cathy's rude attitude, I tried to clarify Cathy's misconception by asking Cathy if she would like to see a letter written by my doctor a “medical professional” verifying that my dog is an actual service dog. Cathy rudely said that she had no interest in seeing the letter and told us to leave. I was unaware of the fact that Cathy had re-written the ADA laws to where to only acceptable service dog is a seeing eye dog, and the only individuals covered by the ADA act are blind individuals. Rude, inconsiderate, and discriminate.
Dear Cathy, here’s a list it types of service dogs, perhaps study this before discriminating and being extremely rude while doing so: Arthritis, Ataxia (Poor Balance), Autism, Blindness (or Poor Vision), Cancer, Cardio/ Pulmonary Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Deafness Or Hearing Impaired, Diabetes, Medical Alert Needs, Multiple Sclerosis (MS),Pain Related, PTSD, Physical Mobility Issues, Psychiatric Disabilities, Seizure Disorders, Severe Allergy Alert, Spinal Bifida, Spinal Cord/Head...
Read moreUpdated review I am a local and used to be a regular here... buuuut for a while now, it hasn't been nearly as good as it used to be and I'm so disappointed to say this. I always loved it here and had a special connection to it as it was one of the last places I ever went with my uncle. My wife has always said its just alright and I practically beg her to go sometimes but Cathys is making that an uphill battle. For example, today I got an omlette that was good with the potato souffle. The middle of the souffle was cold and it used to always burn my mouth because it was so hot. My wife ordered 2 eggs over medium and they came basically rare. She asked SUPER nicely to have the chef put them on just a little longer and they brought them back out wayyyy over cooked (clearly a spiteful decision by the cook). My wife didnt touch them after that and when they cleared the table, they even acknowledged she didnt eat them and didnt even offer to take them off the check. Hope you can get your act together Cathys.
I attached a picture of the eggs... you be the judge if thats acceptable as "over medium"
Awesome atmosphere, staff and food! They have an amazing breakfast and my wife loved the generously made Mimosa. They have a nice beer selection, having some local brews on draft. Prices are also pretty awesome. Definitely recommended...
Read moreGreat breakfast spot! Love going early and sitting on the outside patio after watching a beach sunrise. Delicious and affordable food. Still has that great small town feel that has been harder to find as our community grows.
Fantastic serving staff, so friendly and always walking through the dining areas to refill drinks or offer anything you need.
I keep it simple with the 2 egg special breakfast. My eggs are always perfectly cooked over medium. They have various sides offered - potato souffle looks fantastic, but I have not yet tried it. They offer grits, and they are some of the best I have had at a restaurant in a long time. They must have a southerner in the kitchen. Whoever is in there understands the need to salt grits before cooking - they are perfectly seasoned and creamy and are a part of the driving force for my continued visits!
One note, there is a small 3.5% surcharge for using cards to pay your bill. Be sure to bring cash if you wish to avoid...
