Lolitas Tacos — Restaurant in Kalamazoo Charter Township

After frequenting this business for years since they’ve moved into the neighborhood, I will never spend my money there again. I order during lunch rush and waited, which was expected and fine. Upon receiving the food, the woman didn’t apologize for my wait time or acknowledge my experience in the least. After arriving home I realized there were tomato’s on part of my order which shouldn’t have been. I returned back to the store and let the same woman know. She didn’t acknowledge the mistake at all and simply told the kitchen in Spanish the error, still no apology. The food came back up so quickly I knew they had only swiped the tomatoes off and not remade the tacos themselves. I asked the woman and she directed me to the kitchen. The elder man responded out of anger and denied doing so, so I showed him the tomato’s/tomato juice inside the box as well as the increased lettuce and tomato to cover up the old tacos. He continued to argue with me and refusing to simply acknowledge what he’s truly done and said he would remake them but it would take a few minutes. A few minutes later, he barked “what do you want on your tacos?” When I didn’t understand due to language barrier he barked it loudly again in front of a packed store. After slamming things around, making rude and inappropriate statements about me in his native language, he slammed my order on the counter without saying a word to me. The woman eventually made it back to the front and handed me the order. Not a singular apology or offer to discount the order or coupon for a later visit based on this horrible experience. We’re all human and mistakes happen but when we fail to take accountability and make things right, that’s the problem. I am extremely disappointed and upset. I went there today Feb 23rd for the nachos because i usually really enjoy them. However this time they were full of grease. Like everything was filled with grease liquidy and solidified. It was not enjoyable. There was not as many of the spicy carrots as usual like 3 of them. I was not looking for free food when I mentioned it to them but that’s how they acted. They didn’t offer me a discount or anything to make up for it instead had me pay and said they’ll do there best to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else and said it was because they have a new staff helping out today. It’s very upsetting and disappointing that they would allow a customer to leave unsatisfied with a bad experience. I would’ve came back if they would’ve made up for it but instead I was shorted. I really enjoyed their nachos but now I can go back seems how they responded to the situation. Very unprofessional if you ask me. I wasn’t expecting anything in return but the fact that they allowed me to leave unsatisfied and shorted shows who they are as a business. I highly recommend this place until now. Had my husband get two tamales to try out first....they were so tasty!!! First I was surprised how generous the tamales were, nice and hefty!!! I have had some that were skinny. The masa to filling was on point! The masa alone was flavorful. The pork was seasoned well and absolutely delicious! Both the green and red salsa gave the heat I like...hot!

We liked it so much I had him go back for more! Lol. He came home with 2 more generous sized tamales. 2 steak tacos (Mexican style on corn) and 2 carnitas (Mexican style on corn), side of rice and beans. Oh my freaking gosh!!
