This is the 1st time trying Ray Ray's. Moved here from Chicago(born and breed) 3 years ago. In that time I have been unable to find good food, (sorry Kzoo but you do not have good food.) Skeptical but hopeful I went into Ray Ray's tonight and ordered a beef, a kids hotdog, a cheeseburger and pulled pork with 3 fries and then I also received a chicago style hotdog. I jokingly told the owner my entire Kzoo food experience now rests on his shoulders lol. So here is my honest opinion. Ray Ray's is great and did Chicago proud! The Chicago dog tasted like home, although I do prefer it with a Vienna dog, but thats pretty specific to Chicago and outside of that it was a great Chi-dog. The beef has a bit of a kick but not to much and it was very flavorful. The pulled pork is a huge sandwich and I was told really good, the cheeseburger was also really great and also pretty big. We order 3 fries to split between 4 people, and the portions were huge, we could have gotten away with 2 orders for 2 kids and 2 adults but no complaints here. Just a quick mention, the fries are what I was looking forward to the most, they are hand cut, fresh, not frozen and they tasted wonderful, very reminiscent of Jean & Judes which would mean nothing to anyone here in Kzoo but for me it reminded me of a place I miss. Hands down, Ray Ray's is great, fresh and I will be...

This is one really amazing place where they hustle to make handmade feelgood food, where they treat you like family... no matter who you are.
Not only does the owner serve everything with a friendly smile and a warm greeting, but it seems it's a family affair here. He introduced us to his daughter, who was also taking orders with her son. The apple didn't fall far from the tree because it was like everyone there was happy to see you there.
Look, what you came here for is how's the food? The food is amazing. Full stop. ... But, I'll get to that.
In the 30 minutes we were inside, my wife and I saw so many walks of life come in and go out with smiles on their faces. Great food and friendly service is the great equalizer, and this place has both in spades
It seems this place, just an unassuming whole-in-the-wall restaurant, is filled with welcomeness
To top that all off, you can tell someone took care to make your food delicious.
So even if they never told you verbally, the care that went into the food says, "We're glad you're here, and would love for you to come back."
"Superb in every way" Italian Beef sandwiches that are bar none the best I've had...
Read moreOh boy! Do yourself a favor and get to this place asap! This is a Chicago based eatery, so it has staples like the Italian beef and Chicago dogs, which I ordered one of each, while my girlfriend ordered a Chicago dog and a pizza burger. We both had the dogs first, which were great. I tackled the Italian beef afterwards. Goodness that thing was huge! Not only was it big, but it was tasty as well. Luckily for me, my girlfriend didn't have room for the burger, so we took that home. I ate this for lunch 2 days later. Even after being refrigerated and microwaved, this was the best burger I have ever eaten! You could tell the beef they use is fresh and lean. They cook the burger over a charcoal grill which adds even more flavor. The bun was a fresh roll not out of a package. Topping were flavorful and fresh. The pizza sauce they used must be homemade, because it was chunky and delicious. Mind you, this was reheated. I'm upset I didn't try it when it was fresh. Literally, better than I have ever made at home. I want to go back every day! Almost worth an hour...
