San Francisco Neveria & Paleteria — Restaurant in Kalamazoo

I have nothing to say but run to this place because it is fantastic. I have not had Mexican food this good since I was in Mexico, deep Mexico! The staff are nice and help me figure out what I should order. We got the chips and salsa, which was delicious and freshly made, and a healthy portion.

I got the Birria Ramen and it did not disappoint. It was delicious, especially with all the lime slices that came with it. There were grilled onions and a jalapeño that were so flavorful. Everyone at the table was moaning in delight. The portion was large enough for me to get 3 satiable meals from it. They provided chopsticks for it, which was surprising and also very appreciated!

My partner got the wet burrito and ate every single morsel, which is kind of unique for them to do.

The Al Pastor tacos were moist and seasoned to perfection and heavenly.

The Birria tacos were one of the staff's favorites and it was my companion's first time trying it, needless to say, they will add that to their top 5 moving forward!

I walked in there in a bad mood and walked out delighted! I was too full to try the ice cream but will be back weekly for more!

I went to San Francisco and I saw one of the workers cutting their nails and I really dont think that place is sanitized. If they do that in front of us customers, then what do we expect to find in our food!!😰🤮which I’ve already had non food material things come out in my snack orders from the front staff. I do get my refund but after a snotty, bad tempered, unprofessional argument from the skinny, orange hair wanna be boss employee. Even after it being her who prepared my order in the first place. Very poor customer service at this place. My order always gets messed up at this place as well. The cooks are really clean. I’ve seen them completely up to code when handing out orders to the front which they shouldn’t have to but because of the manager and another employee just standing around on their phones and at times playing around throwing food to each other while the rest of the staff is busy and working hard. The orders would never be out if it wasn’t for the cooks stepping up. IM DONE...

This time, I was disappointed. I ordered the chicharrón preparado as a pick up order. The last several times that I ordered this, they kept the chicharrón separate; in a plastic bag with the toppings in a box on the side. This keeps the chicharrón from getting soggy. This time, they put everything on the chicharrón and put it on a weird tray with another weird tray turned upside down and put on top of the other one. The chicharrón is too big to put in a to-go box, so I guess that's why they packaged it like that? It ended up being awkward and some of the toppings leaked out. It was very soggy and almost inedible by the time I got home. I wish they would have packaged it like normal. The mangonada was good, as always, and so were the birria tacos.
