First of all, OMG, I am so sorry I don't have any photos to share with you all. While my husband and myself were looking at the reviews, we wondered why we didn't see many photos, but now I know why. Here's the scene: Saturday night, July 25th, tired, hungry, spending the weekend at the local hotel visiting my parents and getting a little time away from home . Decide on takeout from Trout Town. We ordered a bowl of White Bean Chicken Chili, Smoked Trout Pate to share, and he ordered the Tavern battered perch dinner, and I had the smothered brisket. It was the best Fing takeout dinner I have ever had in my life. Everything was in the bag, it was all packaged with care, nothing was missing. We pulled it all out, and tore into it with a ravenous hunger bordering on honey badger. The smoked trout pate was served with delicious pita triangles, the perch crisp and flavorful, the brisket was delicious too, served with mashed potatoes slightly reminiscent of high school lunch style taters but with Fing amazing flavor... but the piece de resistance, the golden fleece, the mona lisa of the whole thing was the White Bean Chicken Chili. Have you ever eaten an orgasm? Have you ever cheated on your husband with a damn bowl of chili while he sat right across from you? Yes... it is that good. I got the first taste of it after my husband dumped the colorful red and black tortilla strips into the bowl. I watched him as I tasted it. "mmmmmm, ooooohhhhhh" I exclaim. "This is good" I close my eyes and moan, my toes reaching under the table to slide up his leg a little as I sigh with pleasure savoring every bite of the most delicious white bean chicken chili I have ever had in my life. I was F'ing this bowl of chili, I was making love to it, and my husband had no clue... until he tasted it. We danced to the chili's tune... a slow concerto of the finest of exquisite flavors gliding across our tongues.... such a small bowl, my husband and I wished the other would relent, neither of us wanting to share, but knowing it only right to do so... the last bite draweth near, our tongues nearing the climax, alas... my husband won the battle and had the last bite! Curse you delicious chili! Until next time... I shall order 2...
Read moreThe best thing we ate was the dirty tots!! Its an appetizer with tater tots, queso cheese, jalepeno, tomatoes, green onions and pulled pork. You can substitute the pulled pork for crumbled bacon or without meat. I would go without the pulled pork next time to enjoy the yummy queso! The queso is definitely the high light of the appetizer.
I had the clam chowder soup. It's my favorite and hard to find at restaurants now a days. It was soupy and not thick. Which I prefer it that way, it had pretty good flavor too. I would get a big bowl next time.
I got the fish and chip basket. It was huge pieces and the tarter sauce was pretty good. The fish batter could of use more seasoning though. It's hard to do that in most restaurants. I mean, you have people like me who loves flavor and you get those who complain there is too much flavor. (You non flavor people need to calm down) 😂🤷♀️
I love looking for small restaurants. This is why I travel often. This was not even on our agenda.
It was not busy when we arrived and not too long after, it really picked up!
Customer service was good too! I did notice waitresses would move to the front room then to the back room and I felt bad for them. I think some organization with the waitresses could use some work. Like one or two cover the front. And one or two cover the back. It would help achieve better customer service. We had two waitresses come up at different times to see if we ordered drinks yet. And that took some time to get.
Either way, it was a good place to check out. I would recommend those who are traveling to find this restaurant and...
Read moreFish me and my wife had really didn't have any flavor. It was good but bland. My wife was disrespected by one of the other customers and the staff didn't do anything about the situation. The whole place was loud and people were talking at every table. Disappointed in the way things were handled cause it could have got out of hand with everyone that was there. We were there on 11-4-23 and the guy that attacked my wife didn't know the situation we were dealing with but to tell her to get off the phone when the whole place was loud was pretty rude and could have turned into a bigger fiasco. Everyone was loud but my wife's conversation was bothering one of the other customers so he decided to come tell us her conversation was bothering him yet you couldn't hear her over all the other commotion. Every table was full of people talking some louder than us but her on the phone apparently was worse then everyone else and it was a personal conversation that should have not been interrupted. This guy didn't know what the situation was and could have just kept to himself but decided that he was the king and told my wife to end her conversation in the restaurant. Might want to monitor your guests a bit better cause I haven't been in that place in years and I know it wouldn't have happened years ago when I frequented this establishment. This guy was also two tables...
