Came here on karaoke night with some friends. The people, the servers were all really nice, attentive and great. I’m giving two stars because of the food. We got some nachos and it looked like something my 5 year old could have prepped up, it had very little toppings, very little cheese and a big spoonful of salsa that was put on the top of the nachos. When we were done with the top half of the nachos all the cheese was gone, by the time we finished the plate it was bone dry, no toppings or anything was left on the plate. It just shows how little cheese and toppings they used. The wings we got had very little sauce but were otherwise good. The wings and nachos were around $40 which seems about right considering prices around the area, but the food itself was kind of a disappointment. Regarding the music the Dj had his mic turned up so loud it hurt my ears and many people at the table thought it was just to loud. Curious I turned on the decibel reader on my watch it was consistently around 98db and spiked up to 115db. The DJ had his mic turned up so loud but the singers mic was turned down so quiet. I know it’s karaoke night at a bar but wow that was loud. I think it’s a cool place to go karaoke they just need to tweek a few things, maybe turn down the lights a little, turn down the sound, turn down the dj mic and turn up the singers mic, and improve the food. Then they will...
Read moreWe visited State Road Tavern & Restaurant for Sunday brunch, and were very impressed at the cleanliness of the restaurant, the friendly service (by Deborah R), and the tasty food. I chose the Benedict of the Day, which was an eggs Benedict dish with pulled pork and kale, hubby got the salmon BLT. The grounds of the DeJoria Center (which State Road Tavern is located next to) and views of the mountains from the restaurant are beautiful, and we might have opted for patio seating, but it was still just a teence too cold - in June, go figure! The thing that we most appreciated was that they played old school country on the satellite radio instead of the awful watered-down hip-hop or auto-tuned R&B you hear at most restaurants. For what you get, State Road's prices are a tad on the high side, but if the opportunity arises, we'd happily dine...
Read moreIt appears that all of the the five star reviews and photos of food that actually looks good are from over a year ago, which checks. Things must have changed since, because our experience there this evening was not five stars. The bar tender was sweet and attentive, and the atmosphere was great, but the food was pretty disappointing. The beer selection was very limited. The Buffalo cauliflower was the consistency of mashed potatoes and was covered in a half inch of soggy breading. The BLT had maybe one slice of bacon, and the Chicken Cordon Blu sandwich tasted like a generic/pre-breaded/microwaved deal. In fact, everything tasted microwaved. Definitely a let down, as we'd being looking forward to trying to place for...
