Park Road Soda Shoppe — Restaurant in Kannapolis

Today is my dad's heavenly birthday. On his birthday, we would go out for hot dogs and a banana split. He lived in upstate NY, so I wasn't always able to be there. Today, in his celebration, I did a google search for great hot dogs, and Park Road Soda Shoppe popped up, and they're close by in Kannapolis. The decor is retro 50's with corresponding music, which I love and the service was excellent!. I ordered the Kahn All Beef Hot dogs with mustard and onions, and my wife ordered the Chili Dog, "All the Way." Plus, we ordered the french fries for two. The kahn hot dogs were exceptional, and the buns were lightly toasted, perfect amount of mustard and onions on top! The chili dog was also exceptional with the perfect amount of toppings! Crinkle cut fries were exactly to my liking with a nice crisp exterior and soft in the middle as they should be and were not greasy at all.! Now to the Banana Split. My dad would have absolutely loved it. Old school clear plastic boat with generous scoops of ice cream and the perfect amount of toppings, ehile the bananas were perfectly ripe and flavorful. Three strikes and you're out. I have had 3 back to back bad experiences at the Kannapolis Park Road Soda Shoppe. The last one this morning. I had breakfast there today. The food was good. The service was horrible. This can't be blamed on a shortage of labor. There were 5 tables filled, including mine, and 2 waitresses. I got served and no one ever came by again to refill coffee or to check on if I needed anything. The waitress that took my order was talking to another customer the bulk of the time. The time before that was 4 months ago. The food was very bad. Not what it used to be. The third time was one year before the second time. My take out order sat for 20 minutes at the register while I waited because the waitress was talking to a young man who was not eating there. I finally asked about my order and it was sitting beside her the whole time. Service is as important to the experience of eating out as the food. Several years ago this place could not be beat for service or quality. Not anymore. They lost me for good today. The owners should look for...

This restaurant needs to be inspected as well as the food and the staff needs to be retrained.

Furthermore, upon letting the staff know that there was a problem with my food and that there was mold on the bread they completely shut down. Considering the fact that the mold was about the size of a quarter, one can assume that there is no possible way for the cook to overlook it. Furthermore, no one came to the table to apologize, I did not receive any form of apology until it was time for my daughter's father to pay the bill. Subsequently, this leads me to believe that the establishment cares more about profits than building customer relations, which is just bad business!

In closing, please choose a cleaner, healthier place to eat. It takes just a second to get poisoned by food. I was just lucky as I always just eat as soon as the food hits the table had I done this I would have been sick.
