Their Sunday special, Chicken Fried Chicken, was a totally disappointing meal. I asked for gravy on the side and a spoon that I requested from the server twice and never received any eating utensils other than the knife and fork. The gravy was overly salted and included way too much grease and flour. The mixed zucchini squash vegetable was overly salted. It didn't come with my order and I had to ask for it to be brought out after the meal was served. The potatoes were dry and stiff like overly cooked instant potato flakes...don't get me started on the very small portion sizes. More like kid's meal portions. The server never came back to ask how anyone's food tasted (we had nine family members in our dining party today) nor did he come around even once to ask any of us if they needed anything else, until we were practically done eating. I could only eat half of my meal. (see picture that I took of my sad meal) I could feel myself swelling from all of the high sodium content. Not good cause I'm salt sensitive and suffer from high blood pressure. In my opinion this meal was not fit for human consumption nor was it a desirable "Sunday Special". My family members have been here quite a few times in the past few years and each time it is going downhill in food quality, taste and restaurant service. At least they have pool tables and bigscreen TV's.

Thank the maker! The weekend is upon us! What that means for me is that for the next three days I don't have to eat my cooking for my evening meal! So, to start this three-day Feast off I, stopped over at a place called The Brass Rail. Reading some local reviews, I see that this place has a mixed reputation. And the sad thing about it is I live so close to it and I almost never go there. Well tonight I change that! I went in after work and decided to try their Reuben sandwich with some onion rings instead of fries. I was not disappointed! I started it off with a beer from Martin City Brewery, Estrada de Terra, and with the first sip I thought to myself I need some cream and sugar to go with this coffee! A Smooth Dark beer with distinct notes of coffee that was easy to drink. Then they brought out my sandwich! On marble rye they layer freshly cut slices of corned beef. It was tender and succulent and fatty just as if they had freshly cut it off the brisket. To that they added some sauerkraut, some thousand island dressing, and some cheese. They then put the top of the sandwich on it. Walla! Culinary Heaven! For dessert I had a Cigar City dark Maduro Brown Ale, with delicious hints of chocolate it was bold yet smooth to the last drop. All in all, a very good start to the weekend! Well Done Brass Rail! Well Done Indeed!

Server was not attentive whatsoever. It took me having to ask the manager the a food menu after 20 minutes of not getting one. I understand your busy but if I have to track you down for.food.and a drink your service is sub par. I ordered fried mushrooms as an app. $7.99 and sold by the pound. I received 16 mushrooms for an entire order. I gave the server a chance to take them back and she lied to me saying that was normal. The owner need to have a talk with his staff. They literally tried telling me this was a pound of mushrooms. I will never come back to this place. I would recommend anyone thinking about wanting a pool bar atmosphere go to Sidepockets. I seriously can not believe the experience I had here tonight....

EDIT: Brass Rail's management and ownership went above and beyond to hear out our concerns, expressed their sincerest apologies, and offered to do what they could to make amends. We will be returning. Thank you for your professional handling of this situation and my family and I look forward to continuing to support this local business.

I want to like this place and have frequented several times over the course of 5 years. Service has always been hit or miss. Consistently the bar tenders are much faster and more friendly than the wait staff. Got a table around 6pm on a Tuesday. (The following list of wait times is NOT exaggerated).

Waited 20 minutes for a pitcher and was brought a single beer. Was charged for this beer at full price instead of happy hour price. Waited another 10 for an extra glass. Waited another 10 for our order to be taken. Still no apology or explanation for the wait time. Absolutely zero sense of urgency or desire to check on us from our server. She avoided eye contact several, several times.

Wonderful tenderloin sandwich, which is why this is not a 1 star review.

After waiting 15 for our second pitcher, for which we had to walk to the server to request, we decided to leave. No apology from server or manager on duty. Seemed possible they were slightly understaffed, and maybe she was just having a bad day? Either way, this was overwhelmingly one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. She did rush over to make sure we were going to pay our tab though (which we did at the bar). She at least cared about her tip :) And when I said we already tabbed out, thanks for checking, she provided a lovely bit of lip as she walked off despite the fact that we had been respectful, polite, and patient. If you don't mind being treated like your existence is an inconvenience for your server, come check this place out. Otherwise, get the tenderloin to-go and...

We meet every December when good friends come in for Christmas to get together and have fun and get caught up. We decided to do this 6 years ago because we knew we weren't getting any younger and if we did wait we would be getting together at Funerals. I picked Brass Rail for many reasons. ALWAYS the food is EXCELLENT (LOVE THE FRIED PICKLES) and the staff is friendly and very good at what they do remembering peoples order. The food comes out fast and the drinks are always good (LOVE THE SWEET TEA ALSO). Usually we have about 20 or so people, well this year we had a Retirement to celebrate and I called in advance to reserve an area for about 50 people. I talked to Zack the manager and he gave us the area that use to have pool tables but now has comfortable retro chairs and tables and just awesome new decor. I also got to talk to the owner when I was setting up the decorations. I told him that people always complain and customer service is a thing of the past and I wanted to let him know that we have been pleased every time we have been to his business. The customer service is awesome and the food is amazing. I personally wanted to let him know this and he said they tried very hard to have a great place for people to come. Well I am here to tell you that it shows. Our waitress had over 50 people to help, serve food and get drinks for and she did an amazing job. The managers came out and introduced themselves to say if we needed anything just to let them know. If I could give Brass Rail 10 STARS, I definitely would. Keep up the good work.....WE WILL...
