Once again, I want to add a thank-you to our server, Diana, at our most recent visit. I recently injured my foot and was using a walker and post-op boot, and Diana was SO helpful in getting me (and my walker) arranged in the booth, and ensuring I was comfortable! She was friendly, welcoming, and very efficient, and was a key element in another WONDERFUL meal at our favorite Mexican restaurant! Thank you, Diana! I want to add a special thank-you to our server, Madlin, when we had dinner with friends earlier this month. It was very busy but Madlin took good care of us, ensuring we had plenty of chips and salsa, taking our orders in a speedy fashion, and checking back once we had our meals to see if everything was to our liking.

Of course the food was FABULOUS, as always! But a very special thank-you to Madlin; my friend had brought a coupon from the newspaper and didn't realize it was expired. Madlin couldn't honor it, and my friend completely understood, but before we left Madlin gave my friend a punch card nearly filled out. She said that way she could get the discount on her next visit. That was an unexpected kindness, and my friend really appreciated it.

We love the food at Dos de Oros, but what keeps us coming back is the service. Everyone is committed to ensuring every customer has a marvelous time, and they succeed! We'll be back, and soon! :-) I have to add that we had a MARVELOUS time when we had dinner at Dos de Oros on Halloween! Our server was Itzel, and she was SO sweet. The staff was a little overrun by customers; it turned out to be a busier night than expected. But Itzel was very solicitous, and stopped by our table almost immediately to let us know she'd be with us shortly. (I think she was the only server in our area of the restaurant!) She took our drink and food orders as soon as possible, and they arrived piping hot and delicious, as always. She checked back with us during the meal to ensure we had everything, and took care of the bill when we were ready to go. We SO appreciate Itzel going above and beyond on a really busy evening! The food is always the best--that's why we keep coming back--and we just want to acknowledge the stellar service that Itzel provided to us. Thanks so much! I just want to add what a truly delightful meal we had when we came for dinner on my husband's birthday! Stephanie was our server, and she went out of her way to ensure that we were well taken care of. She was friendly and efficient and stopped by multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed--from chips and dip, to my house margarita (the BEST!), to our meals. We had our usual favorites: my husband had the #1 Combination and I had the Vegetarian Combo. They were DELICIOUS, as always! At the end of the meal, Stephanie checked our punch cards and discovered we had earned a discount. What a nice surprise! Many thanks to Stephanie and everyone at Dos de Oros for their continued high quality food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely our favorite Mexican food restaurant! My husband and I are HUGE fans of Dos de Oros! We've been coming here for years and love so many items on the menu. We recently visited and I had a new dish that I want to rave about: the Vegetarian Combo. The spinach enchilada and veggie quesadilla were both delectable; I especially love the sweet/BBQ-tangy sauce that tops the quesadilla. The vegetables are all roasted and taste very fresh; even the spinach in the enchilada was firm and flavorful--obviously not from a can.

On top of the marvelous meal, we always enjoy their homemade chips and salsa, and the house margaritas are always tasty.

With fast and friendly service, a welcoming ambience, and unfailingly FABULOUS food, Dos de Oros is our favorite Mexican restaurant in...

This restaurant has gone down like the titanic. I used to think pretty highly of this restaurant as a casual quick bite, however, it has never been a culinary experience to say the least.

While I have dined at the restaurant, I generally place a to go order for lunch or pick up something from here after work. The last three times I have ordered from here my order has been incorrect, once so much that I realized that they charged me for my order but gave me someone else’s order. I gave up on calling back in and asking for the correct order because the one time that I did the lady actually laughed and asked when I could come back.

Today I called to place an order and was informed that they are out of Avacados. So that means half of everything on their menu is unavailable and that everything else is without guacamole. No guacamole? How does a Mexican Restaurant not have Avacados. Has there been a global shortage? Did they succumb to global warming? Will this be in the news tomorrow with a picture of Al Gore?

The woman that answered the phone when I attempted to place my order was uninterested in saving me as a customer today. She just said, “okay, bye” as if I had broken into their restaurant and stolen every last avacado they had for my iwn sinister deeds. Folks, there are plenty of grocery stores within driving distance from Martin City, it is not as if you had to take a plane to some far off, sacred land to obtain these Avacados.

On a lighter note, they have a decent tamale and a decent street taco. Judge for yourself. Take a trip to Martin...

Dos de Oros is a great Mexican restaurant. I have been to many Mexican restaurants in my day and this one by far is the most authentic that I've had. The location isn't too bad being right off Holmes Rd. I must agree, the entrance of the restaurant is very cramped. This place is popular with the locals so it's always busy with a wait, especially during peak hours. The size of the entrance is pretty small with not a lot of room to maneuver. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. It would be nice if there was an actual waiting section instead of one bench for ten people. Especially during the colder months when most people have to wait outside in the cold. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed with a darker lighting to it. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Most of the time they are speedy to get you your food and bill when you ask for it. The food itself is very tasty. I particularly like their chicken tacos. I tend to get their white queso with three chicken tacos. The price is hard to beat especially with how good the food tastes. This is a great Mexican restaurant to come to. I'll...

If you're craving authentic Mexican food in South KC, "Dos de Oros" is a must-visit destination. From the moment you step in, you're treated to a warm and welcoming atmosphere that's just a prelude to the culinary delights that await.Their menu is a treasure trove of Mexican favorites, but the star of the show for me has always been their fajitas. They arrive sizzling, accompanied by all the classic fixings, and the flavors are just spot on – a perfect balance of spices, tender meat, and fresh veggies. But wait, there's more! Dos de Oros takes it a notch higher with their jambalaya. Yes, you read that right! It might sound unusual for a Mexican restaurant, but trust me, it's a dish that you don't want to miss. The blend of spices, seafood, and rice is nothing short of a fiesta in your mouth.Service here is another highlight. The staff is always friendly, efficient, and genuinely seems to care about your dining experience. They're quick to offer recommendations and ensure that your meal is just as you like it.

I have been outside of the country for a year and this was my first Mexican meal since returning to Kansas City. I will definitely be back soon! I was hooked starting with the chips and salsa. Perfect texture and flavor, nice level of spice, each person gets an individual bowl, and refills came without needing to ask. I ordered the chimichanga and am taking half of it home because the serving size was huge. My husband and son both ordered fajitas and the smell as they arrived at the table was tantalizing. I would have added more pictures, but the food was too delicious to wait. We had several waitresses and everyone was friendly and professional. The atmosphere was pleasant. The music was not too loud, lighting was not too bright but light enough to easily see the menu and the food. Everything was clean. 10/10 recommend you to try this restaurant.

Info: 1) Queso (“cheese dip”) was white cheese, and eating it with the chips reminded me of popcorn at a movie theater (primarily buttery and salty flavored) 2) Salsa is primarily mildly sweet and onion ey with hints with hints of other flavors 3) Chips are the thicker variant of Mexican chips 4) In general, the food is somewhere between authentic-mex and tex-mex 5) By rice and beans they mean rice and pinto beans (and not refried beans) Pros: 1) Food is mostly flavorful - there is some interesting flavor combinations going on (like the chimichanga containing onions and chiles) 2) The prices are pretty good (maybe something like $11 meals on average 3) Buiding is better on the inside than the outside Cons: 1) Some flavors were lacking for my wife (aka salsa, rice, and queso) 2) Chimichanga was soggy and not crispy
