I ordered fettuccini alfredo with shrimp, anticipating a great "fish Friday" meal. OMG it was horrible! Served luke warm, alfredo sauce was soupy and the shrimp was tough as old shoe leather! It was mortifying that any cook could serve this meal! My Mother and oldest daughter ordered the other featured meal, K.C. strip. My daughter's steak was just okay, nothing special about this so-called Friday night special, my Mom's steak was tough, unchewable, & most definitely inedible! How is this even possible? My Mom & late Father knew the couple who own this pub & restaurant. Of course, knowing the proprietors certainly doesn't guarantee your meal will be great. We did visit with Mrs. Restaurant owner when she discovered that we were terribly disappointed with the meals. She was most obliging & quickly wanted to please us with another meal. And yes, the two meals were promptly removed from the bill with no asking to do this. She did say one thing that kind of bothered me, "Oh everyone else that had the two dinner specials were very pleased!" I bet they did enjoy their meals after 4, 5 cocktails! I must say that statement rubbed me the wrong way. My youngest daughter had a good grilled Turkey Club sandwich along with the usual included sides. Her fries were absolutely disgusting, deep fried in OLD oil! UGH! We do not plan on returning anytime soon! One last note, the service was great. New owner - Bad experience. Our group of young-at-heart oldsters (10 to 14 strong) meets at the Sand Trap every Tuesday night to dine and socialize. There are several other groups of like age dining while the crowd at the bar is typically younger. Last October, the original owner who ran a place offering great food at a reasonable price sold it. Almost immediately, I began to see negative changes. Order turnaround slowed down, service declined, sizes of entres were reduced and food favorites were removed from the menu. Our group adjusted to the changes. But last nightās experience was unacceptable. My wife and I decided to split a salmon dinner. The salmon pieces that were delivered were minuscule (combining the two pieces equated to half the size of the typical piece Iād receive when ordering a regular dinner. When the bill was delivered, there was a $3 up charge for āblackenedā salmon and a $2 charge for splitting the meal. Neither was identified as charges or upcharges on the menu we ordered from. Evidently the new owner decided not to print up new menus with these new details but decided to just spring the new prices on unsuspecting clientele. We came in and welcomed by the staff (all family and very kind) my 8 year old son was in love with everything he ate from the cheese dip to the corn dogs and tots, they were so sweet they even brought him an ice cream !! Big win for any mom still trying to finish her meal. Salsa was great we never had an empty glass. You can tell that Bev the owner and lisa love helping and caring for there guests. Parking was easy they have both front and back parking and are easily accessible to everyone. Were understanding of food allergy's and kosher friendly foods.
