Unique, excellent bbq sandwiches!
LC's is a unique bbq experience.. one of their manager staff recently called me a regular but I'm not sure I am? While I haven't really tried their menu I know it's those hot sliced bbq beef slices or ham that I really grave. Not sure I crave the pork or turkey so much? So ahh no I haven't really tried their sides or much even their ribs.. but I love the sandwiches/combo's :)
LC as I see it only suffers from 1 problem and that's organization behind that counter.. it's possible to come in and get out in 4-5 minutes with your food and it's possible like today 10/15/2016 to come in and wait 25-30 minutes because the staff is over-whelmed by orders and they can't handle the number of people. LC one of my solid recommendations to you and your business is you would be much more successful and efficient and faster if you would hire one of those company's that makes it their specialty to figure out how they can a burger out the door in 60 seconds for whoever? Because that's the only thing I see wrong is you could use a kitchen/order station re-design and order re-design because something about that flow is messed up.. that's why I had to wait 30 minutes for order fulfillment this evening and it's not the first time. You've had a long wait because your staff was in-efficient and "in" that inefficiency even screwed up my order for the 2nd time in my 10-20 visits these past few months.
For those not understanding (aka consumers) it's great food, it's just sometimes theirs going to be a wait because speed and order delivery is not always LC's specialty they do get back-logged. And I can see! they don't have too? if they would just put some good thought or a company into this area to allow them to run fast and efficient.
When things go wrong at LC's you can wait a hour like this saturday may the 6th note people with no food waiting at tables.....
----- This is parts of my old review ------
The sauce is not spicey so that's a plus.. it's mostly sweet but ahh it's fine. The sandwiches will fill you up (usually big portions not all the time) at the least the combo portions are pretty big. Also the sandwiches aren't exactly made to retain heat.. I would say you get them at 130-80F just about every time.. it's like they don't have the equipment to serve "hot" sandwiches.. And that's unfortunate.. it's like heat lamps and "hot plates" whatever could be used...
Read moreDuring a recent road trip to the Ozarks, we decided to make a pit stop at LC's in Kansas City, MO. My friend had been raving about it, and our anticipation was high as we pulled into this charming BBQ joint. LC's exudes authenticity, and that's what sets it apart. The place has a divey, old-school vibe that instantly transports you to the heart of BBQ country. What adds to the experience is the sight of all the meats being smoked right before your eyes, creating an enticing aroma that lures you in.
Now, when I visit a BBQ spot, I can't resist trying the burnt ends, and LC's was no exception. Unfortunately, this was where my enthusiasm took a hit. While there were some perfect morsels among the beef burnt ends, a significant portion of it was disappointingly chewy, with unappetizing fatty parts that were almost impossible to chew through. I was hopeful that it might have been just an off day or a bad cut of meat, but to our dismay, all three of us felt the same way about it.
On a brighter note, the beans were solid, and I would definitely order them again. However, what still lingers in my memory are the fries—they were absolutely fantastic and worth a return visit on their own.
From what I've heard and observed, the real winners at LC's are the BBQ sandwiches, which, unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try. One thing you can't overlook at LC's is the portion sizes—they are enormous, some of the biggest I've ever seen at a BBQ joint.
I would recommend LC's for the overall experience and the generous portions. However, I'd advise avoiding the beef burnt ends to prevent potential disappointment. The atmosphere and the aroma of smoking meats make LC's a unique and inviting BBQ destination worth a visit when you find yourself in...
Read moreHave you ever been to an old-school BBQ restaurant that had the wonderful smell of smoked hickory when you walked through the door? If so, you know what I mean when I say that you will smell like a wonderful hickory BBQ pit until you bathe and change clothes. LC's is that kind of wonderful! BBQ just isn’t the same unless you smell like BBQ all day. The food has the best mouthwatering flavor here in Kansas City. It leaves your taste buds craving more and more. I enjoyed every bite of my pork and beef combination burnt ends today at lunchtime. Honestly, it was more than my stomach could hold but I continued to pack it in along with some coleslaw and giant sized french-fries. They were very (Like very x1.5) generous with the serving size. I was impressed! I eat BBQ everywhere and LC’s has the biggest portions in my opinion.
Don’t expect anything fancy. The air-conditioning does an amazing job on a hot day. There is room for about 35 guests. Order at the counter and have a seat. They will holler for you when your order is ready. My order was ready about one minute after I filled my cup with soda. Parking wasn’t a problem. There was a limousine here today with a group from Las Vegas and I know of another group here from Oklahoma. It is like a tourist attraction with people traveling great distances to get a taste of KC BBQ at LC’s Bar-B-Q in Kansas City. Be certain to come here starving with an empty stomach. You will...
