Let's start with the positives before I dissect the intricacies of this establishment. Lamb gyro over rice and chicken tikkah were both good. Tikkah was juicy and had a nice char on top. Lamb gyro has so much flavor and the rice is very well cooked so the texture is not too grainy.
Moving onto the many negatives. I came here during opening hours at 3:08 pm. I was the only customer in the establishment. It took the cashier 10 minutes to take my order because she was taking orders on the phone even though I arrived before the calls came in. She was prioritizing the calls over me which I believe is wrong because she saw me standing there before the calls came in. Then after I placed my order another call came in and she immediately answered it before giving my order to the cook. Then she tells me it'll take 30 minutes for the food to be ready. While I'm sitting, 10 minutes later a man walks in and orders a Philly cheesesteak sub. They START and COMPLETE his order before mine! Mind you I arrived at 3:08 and finally got my food at 3:55 pm. To wait 47 minutes for a carry out order in 2024 is completely unacceptable!!
The only reason I'm not giving a 1 star rating is because the cashier apologized and the food was edible. I cannot consciously recommend this place to anyone or go back with the current service they are offering. If you make me wait 47 minutes it better be the best food I ever ate in my life, which it is nowhere...
Read moreWhat an amazing find! We loved the food, and the taste was so authentic it reminded us of our local food back home. We ordered - Chicken leg - 10/10, the spices and the charcoal flavor were on point! Chapli kabab- 10/10, traditionally, it is made with beef, but they make with chicken, but it was still really good, grilled on the outside and juicy inside Philly cheesesteak - 9/10, amazing taste, I have absolutely no complaints. I might have liked it better if it were just stuffed a little bit more. Plain Naan - good naan, the price is fair for the size. Mango lassi - 100/10, mainly because they were so kind to have given it on the house! But honestly, it's the best mango lassi in Kansas city. My recommendation would be, if you are going there for the first time, definitely try the Shikh kababs instead of the chaapli kabab. We drove for 48 mins just to eat here, and trust me, it was worth it. If you are around the area, please do go visit and show them...
Read moreI arrived at 530 pm on a Sunday to grab some food. There was on guy behind the counter talking to a couple . There was another guy making food further back. I could see wings and smell other aromas. The guy behind the counter told me they weren't open for food. I asked when they would be with all the smells and visible food. He said 2 hours. They did not have anything resembling a closed sign nor was there anything to lead one to believe this establishment was somehow closed. Furthermore, their hours here say they are open until 10 pm. I let the guy behind the counter know that I had zero intention of returning. It's a shame. The food I saw and smelled had a delicious aroma. I was severely disappointed. I don't like to leave a review such as this as I nerve have done so. Then again, neither have I ever been treated in such an inexplicable manner.
I'm off to my favorite Mexican food joint that I know appreciates my business, and I can...
