Rice Bowl — Restaurant in Kansas City

I have ordered from this place for years. They have lunch specials from 11am till 3pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They provide 2 fried appetizers with those meals. There are a lot of choices, and the food is good. The staff is friendly, and there is a small area where you can eat your food in the store. I find myself going by there for soup in the evenings. I have never gotten a wrong/bad order. In fact I have asked them to make the Garlic chicken for me without the heat (not hot), and they make it that way. I've been to other places, and they flat out refuse to make it that way. I highly recommend this place. 07/20/22, still a fan of their lunch special. Plenty of food, and good Now their prices have gone up which is to be expected with Covid. Still reasonable compared to other places. 02/25/23, bought lunch from them today. Got the lunch special. It was great. Not sure why any bad reviews. Still 👍👍 Customer service is a tough job, and the way people act goes both ways. Try a kind word...

The restaurant opens at 11 per the website. I placed an order and paid for it online. I get to the restaurant at 11:45 which the door also says opens at 11 but the door was locked. The owners pull up and tells me they are closed. I explained that i prepaid with the order online and she told me well they were not there to accept the order and told me to call the number online. I call her number just for the same person to pick up the phone. I asked was she the same person i spoke to outside. She said yes i said well i need a refund. She asked what was my order, i told her i was on break from work and could not wait. She said oh well if you can’t wait I’ll just cancel your order. There was no apology or anything they were very rude and will never get my business i give them zero stars...

During the covid shut down I tried to support a few local restaurants in my neighborhood. I have always enjoyed Rice Bowl with the good service and tasty eats. Today I ordered a dinner combo and many things have changed and not for the good. First off the pricing has increased by 26%. I can understand and will accept this to keep the business going in my area. But secondly the portions have gone down by at least 50%. The container I received my meal in today was what the main entrée used came in along with a box of rice(steamed or fried). I do not feel I can fully support the business like I did previously with both the increase in price and decrease in volume of food. See...
