I chose this restaurant strictly from the reviews. When I first arrived the building looked amazingly nice. Then I walked through the door; into a cave! There was no light whatsoever. The customers that were there were crowded next to one of the only open Windows available. I looked at the buffet, it was extremely small. I seriously thought about walking out at that point, but I was hungry and thought hey I'll give it a try. I ended up paying close to $15 for the buffet and when I looked at what was on the buffet, there was absolutely no food. I was not sure if I came at an off hour but there should still be sufficient food for the existing customers. The salad bar had a bowl of salad two sides and 8 different sauces which I do not consider a salad bar. The two hot bars had one fried chicken, one baked chicken and one meatloaf that looked good but was drenched in sauce. The the last hot bar is where all the sides were displayed. The peas and supposedly carrots; I told her fresh, I beg to differ! Peas and carrots do not have that dengy green whereas fresh peas have a bright green color. You only get that color out of a can. Once I got seated I was informed that there was no Pepsi, no dr. Pepper and no I believe it was Mountain Dew. The drink was included in the price so I felt obligated to get a drink since I only wanted water due to the Heat. I ended up getting a lemonade which totally caught me off-guard with the amount of sugar in that drink. I had to ask for a glass of water just to mix the two to calm it down a bit. I went to try the buffet and everything on the buffet was way too salty! The Fried Chicken was decent. The baked chicken; I couldn't even get a bite out of it, was way to dry. The mashed potatoes were decent. The peas and carrots were absolutely salty, not surprising as they came out of a can. I tried the collard greens which were decent. But,the cakes were disgusting. I was really hoping they would be appealing because they looked beautiful. I was going to try the meatloaf because it looked good and I'm very picky on Meatloaf. If it's not firm I'm not trying it, but this one was firm. The only thing that deterred me was the amount of greasy sauce that was covering the bottom of the pan. I wasn't about to take a bite. The mac and cheese did not look appetizing. It looked as though when they combine the noodles and the cheese that the cheese was not thoroughly heated to combine the two ingredients thoroughly. Perhaps they used the wrong cheese because the cheese was not a sauce it was more like stringy goop in addition to the noodles. The Mac n cheese was so greasy, when I went to put some on my plate the grease was dripping off of the cheese which totally made it unpalatable to me. Didn't even bother with the salad bar. So I ended eating two pieces of fried chicken mashed potatoes and some collard greens and super sweetlemonade for about $15. Totally not worth the trouble or the time because I could have easily have gotten that at Popeye's Chicken for way less and way better.
I was told that they have been in business for 25 years. That be the case, their food quality has definitely decreased. When they first opened, I bet it was the best food you ever tasted. When I went, it was the worst food I ever tasted. I was made aware that there is a second location, perhaps the second location has better food.
The owners comment, even before I wrote this review, is another reason I will not be supporting this establishment. If they're not willing to take constructive criticism they don't need my hard earned money.
You must have my review mixed up with someone else's. I stated in the comment...
Read moreI have been here a few times before and it was amazing. My Mom came in town and wanted some new eats so I chose Peach Tree. When we arrived the place was packed we paid and waited to be seated. My son had to use the bathroom so i took him. Comingback there was no place to stand without being in peoples way. Everyone was waiting to be seated. We stood by the counter by facing the salad bar for about 10 mins which is no problem. But a waitress comes and tells us WE NEED TO MOVE WE CANT HAVE YOU ALL UP ON THE FOOD. Which is rude as hell where are we supposed to stand behind the counter with the cashiers? Its so many other things she could of said. Like is there something I can help you with. Or lead us to where we could stand and wait. She not once even greeted us or even cracked a smile. A smile and being polite can take you a long way. That was my biggest complaint. After we told her we were waiting to be seated she asked the name of our party she said awh yall are next. Grabbed the silverware and said come on. We were seated we kind of waited around before fixing our plates to see if she was going to take our drink order. She never did so we went to make our plates. Me and my mom were halfway through our plates when i saw our waitress again. I asked could we get some drinks or ask someone else for some. She answered after she is done seating customers she will bring us our drinks. She went and asked the customers before us for their drinks came back and asked us ours. She came and delivered the drinks but forgot mine. She then went on to seat another customer before bringing me my drink. But she was not rude this time. Other than that the food was great. We had to wait for more food to be put out. But I dont mind waiting for fresh food. Cornbread muffins were to die for. I made two plates muffins on each plate. Fish was fried perfect said by my Mom and he is a huge food critic. My mom said the mac n cheese was great. But when i went to get some a new batch was out. Something was off i didnt care for it. But i have eaten here a few times so i will be back to try it again. My son is a VERY picky eater. But Im so thankful you guys had the baked chicken. He picked the biggest piece and ate it ALL. Sadly to say I was too stuffed to try the dessert annnd yall had just put out a fresh peach cobbler and chocolate cake. In the future you guys should get a ice cream machine. Im fat I love CAKE AND ICE CREAM. So yeah me and my mom had a nice time and nice meal. Just customer service needs help. And SMILE. See you...

Our first 2 times in was wonderful. So I'm sad to leave this review. The food was great, the buffet was full... Except for cobbler, been 3 times and I've yet to have cobbler. This last time was not the best. I'm hoping the feedback can be used to make some improvements. The food was "ok." stars because the sides are incredible. Can't beat the greens, cabbage, yams and Mac n cheese. However the greasy slippery floors going to the restroom, not great. No toilet paper and no paper towels to dry your hands with. Also, out of tea. Considering the price of the buffet, they should be doing something quick about the tea. Lastly, the smoke alarm clearly needs batteries. Yes, the food is mostly good, but the atmosphere needs to match the goodness of the food. I brought my dad in visiting from New Mexico and he left less than impressed, which was NOT the Peachtree I had experienced twice before.
In response to the owners response... There is a LOUD BEEPING IN THE RESTAURANT TO INDICATE THE BATTERIES NEED TO BE CHANGED. SO SITTING IN THE RESTAURANT FELT A LOT LIKE READING THIS FONT. Secondly, I don't drink soda or lemonade so the other 8 options you have available do not interest me. Also, needing toilet paper and paper towels and not feeling like I'm going to slip and fall on my way to the bathroom is not holding you to a higher standard or picking you apart. We waited, for some time for cobbler. It was just about empty when we got there and completely scraped for the remainder of our visit. I'll be happy to reduce my review to a one star.
What is more destructive? A customer that leaves an honest review that speaks of great food and one bad visit, or an owner that wants to behave defensively to very easily remedied issues. Here is an example of what great customer service looks like "I'm sorry your visit with Peachtree was not like your previous visits, I assure you we have taken your review into consideration and will absolutely address the concerns and we hope that upon your next visit, you find the experience...
