Asian Chef — Restaurant in Katy

They deliver to Long Meadow Farms, which is great, there's only 1 other suitable Chinese delivery option by WalMart on Fry, and they're worse. Ordered: Cream Cheese Crab Wonton or Puff (forgot name) Pork + Beef Fried Rice General Tso's Wonton Soup

Ordering via Yelp went great BUT if you call them (I have their flyer) they offer a discount for 2 dinners. on Yelp, there is no option! So I paid extra because I was ordering from phone. Delivery was within an hour as estimated. Very polite driver. Cream cheese puffs very good, the usual if you have eaten them before. Fried rice was also usual and good Every place makes General Tso's different, and I expected a more molasse-y, sticky and fried meal but it was probably (healthier?) with a runnier sauce. Not a favorite for me. Soup smelled bad. I don't know if it was because the plastic was heating up and dissipating into soup (yes, that's a thing) but broth didn't smell fresh. BUT the wontons were delicious.

My parents are picky and don't like all chinese restaurants. Went in for the first time it was quiet. However, when the hostess came out, she was friendly, upbeat and informative. I asked a lot of questions because I have disabled family that cannot eat certain things. The price was good for the amount of food I received. Two dinner combos (soup,egg roll, rice entree) fed 4 individual adults and a 9yr old. The temperature was perfect. Whatever they do to keep the food hot and I did not have to microwave it....amazing. They did not put a lot of seasonings which was excellent for the individual that cannot have too much Sodium and sugar but it still had flavor. I only needed a pinch of soy sauce in my rice noodles.. sometimes, we can destroy flavors by putting too much extra less is more. Appreciated it. I would have dined in. I tried Asian Chef for the first time today. I’ve read the past reviews before and wasn’t really impressed and hesitant about trying, but today, I really didn’t feel like driving out anywhere for lunch so I tried Asian Chef via Grubhub. I ordered the pork steamed dumplings which were really good! I ate two and my daughter ate the rest. And she’s a very picky eater. If she likes them, then they really must be good! They were really delicious. I also ordered the sweet and sour pork combination with shrimp fried rice with a pork egg roll and egg drop soup. All very delicious! The sweet and sour pork is not hard, just the perfect texture and tenderness. The shrimp fried rice has very large shrimp. The combination is only $7.95 which I felt was a really good value for the amount of food you get. I’d eat here...
