This place is kinda weird. If you choose to dine in, you'll be asked to sit and wait for them to bring you a menu. They will bring a basket of chips, which aren't bad at all, but no salsa. I shouldn't have to ask for it. If you want to act like a restaurant, have menus, chips and whatnot, then you bring the damn salsa.
Upon exploration of their menu, you will find that salsa mexicana costs $0.60. What? Yeah, ok. My girl ordered cheese enchiladas. That was a mistake. First, she asked for flour tortillas instead of corn. The waitress didn't seem to understand and looked at her like she was a square shaped chicken with six legs. Her enchiladas sucked. Bad. I tried them myself. They went cold within five minutes of being served, with the cheese solidifying inside and out. Don't expect legit cheese enchiladas. These were full of and covered with shredded cheese you can buy at walmart. Not very appetizing.
I ordered the california burrito which included potatoes, the exact same cheapo cheese from the enchiladas, and "steak". It was alright, definitely a few steps better than the enchiladas. The "steak" wasn't that great, and you get sick of it before you can finish the burrito. There was an area where you could serve your own hot sauce, they have a variety of types. Supposedly arranged in order from mild to hottest. I tried three different sauces. They suck. No heat. Barely an flavor.
When we arrived, they were in the process of sweeping the floor. Holy hell was it dirty in there. There were only two people eating, but the floor was just dirty as hell. It was 2pm in the afternoon and it looked like they hadn't swept since they opened that morning.
Including the two drinks (don't expect anything alcoholic), we paid $20. I don't know if we'll ever go back to try something different, but if we do it won't be for some...
Read moreCame here today on a rainy Sunday morning. I come here once or twice a month. Always like the food. This time, I ordered some tacos (bacon, eggg, bean and cheese). I waited for the take out for about 15-20 min and took my order home. Got home just to find that by tacos were missing the bean and cheese. I called to the restaurant to report the problem and they told me to come back a second time. I arrived and the tacos were already ready. One of the waitresses asked me to check the order to see if was right this time… but the attending cashier told me she already checked and everything was correct. That made me feel good… until I got home. Got back home see that they forgot the beans this time. I called again to report the problem. I had to drive to the restaurant a THIRD time. A little more than a hour had passed and I still don’t heave what I ordered. When I got there, the same waitress was there and she recognized me as soon as I walked in. She had a very consoling voice and face and asked me what happened. I told her the beans weee missing this time. She took the tacos and brought out another new, fresh order. She asked me to check my order again to makes sure it was right. Yes! Finally correct this time. I just wished that the manager would have come out to address the situation and make up in some other way for all the inconvenience of having to make three trips in pouring rain to get the order right. I was hungry and tired and just wanted the order I asked for… so it would have been nice if the manager or owner could have personally come out to acknowledge the problem. Maybe even offer me a free horchata or something for all the hassle. I don’t know… I’ll still come back again but I’ll be less trustworthy that the order is correct this time. I’ll always check for myself before leaving...
Read moreThe Best Menudo! - was my previous rating, but after today's visit, this restaurant went from 5 stars to 1 star. I have been buying Menudo from this restaurant for over 2 years because it is Delicious! However, today I was treated so horrible today at the Drive-thru by an employee named Renee. On the outside menu board it reads $7 with a pic of menudo next to it. I asked, "What size is $7?" Renee responded Large. I said, "Let me have 2". I drove around to the window and encountered "Renee with an Attitude"! She said $18.40. I said, that's not correct if it's $7 each. Nasty Renee rudely said, "Do you want it or not?" I said, Yes, but at the right price," Nasty Renee says again, "Do you want it or not? I calculated the correct total which was $15.15 and explained to Nasty Renee the math. Again, Renee responded, "Do you want it or not?" I finally said, "No." Renee gave me my card back and closed the window. I grabbed my cell and called and asked for the Manager. Renee answered the phone and hung up on me. I called right back and asked for the manager again and another gentleman answered and said he was the manager. He explained that Renee had misquoted the cost of the menudo. The $7 was the small & the large is $8.50. So 2 large will cost $17.88 plus an additional credit card charge for usage. I told him that Renee NEVER took ownership in her mistake and was the RUDEST Customer Service/Server I've ever experienced in my 55 years on this earth. This restaurant will surely LOSE MORE CUSTOMERS if they continue to allow Renee to treat their customers disrespectfully and like trash. I'll have to find another place to...
