Ko Bakery — Restaurant in Kauai

It simply does not get any better than Ko Bakery! I sought a bakery that was creative, clean, and operated in complete excellence and professionalism - Morris and his staff delivered beyond my expectations. We hired Ko Bakery to create my 50th Birthday cake. I spoke with Morris over the phone, and I sensed someone who clearly was comfortable with what I was seeking. We began further dialogue via number emails, where he took my ideas to the next level with his creative insight. I was thrilled! When I reached Kauai, he also went out of his way to meet me at certain spots to minimize extra travel time! That meant a lot to me because it allowed me to enjoy my vacation more with less time driving around the island. It also was a breath of fresh air having someone who was very kind and reasonable with his prices. He even went out of his way to locate a rare orchid that I had requested for my cake. That is a testament to KoBakery’s ability to go beyond the call of duty. That meant so much to me! And needless to say the cake was AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS!!! It was so incredibly yummy - whew!!

My friend ordered a Hawaiian strawberry Fields cake and doesn't want to write a negative review but if a cake has everyone eating it complaining as they're eating then I think it needs one. The strawberry buttercream was perfect but the cake itself was a disappointment. We left it out on the counter for a couple hours after taking it home from the bakery (the box says to leave out for 2-6 hours). First, from the picture, you can see a strange texture (uncooked and underbaked?) in the middle of the top and bottom layers. The cake was very dense and dry. I understand that some types of cakes are meant to be dense, but I don't think that any should be dry. Flavor wise, I could taste only a slight sourness from the Lillokai but otherwise it didn't taste like much and was unpleasant if eaten without the strawberry buttercream. Also, he submitted an order online to have some words written on the top but the cake came without it.

Kō Bakery is the best bakery on the island of Kaua’i. They are meticulously clean, consistent, committed, and dedicated to providing the best possible bakery foods and coffee that is always superb! The staff is hardworking, warm, friendly, kind, and treat people as part of their extended family! I love love love all of Kō bakery’s bakery items and their cakes are incredible and quality! I am always more than satisfies with my experience at Kō Bakery and am so grateful for the joy they bring through their baked goods and cakes to the people of Kaua’i.
