Prices are getting crazy, portion size shrinking by the day! My son got a burrito because he knew in the past it was a good size. Turns it they switched it from my big burrito to a small little thing that looks like itās made for a child. Even worse, this tiny burrito was $10.50 before tax. You can go to McDonaldās & get 2 burritos (both bigger) plus a hash brown and a drink for less than the child size burrito at Hanalima. The last time we got food there, I found hair in my food. The food we ordered this time, loco mocos, also much less than normal. I understand inflation but the burrito situation is on another level. Iāve been going to Hanalima since I was a kid. I appreciate the mom-and-pop small business. I support that but after today Iām a little hesitant that weāll be going there as often as we once did. My one suggestion is donāt get the burrito unless itās for your kid or you just want to pay full price for a sample size to try. Love them but Iām def...
Ā Ā Ā Read more14Oct2022 - We turned home from our latest Hawaii vacation, which always includes 2 weeks on Kauai and ALWAYS includes as many stops as I can manage to the Hanalima Bakery. Well as usual they didn't disappoint, everything was consistently delicious :-) The only thing that seems to have changed is how fast they sell out :-(
I first came to Kauai 15 years ago, I stopped in Hanalima Bakery and bought something called Flying Saucers. I have tried a lot of other bakeries over the years on Kauai but in my opinion Hanalima makes the best Flying Saucers by far. We come to Kauai every 2-3 years and I never miss stopping at Hanalima :-) We also enjoy many of the other items, like Crab, Portuguese Sausage, Pizza, Ham & Cheese & Pork rolls. Their desserts are excellent as well. Always good friendly service and everything I have tried is quality made with pride...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a great place to grab something quick! They have an assortment of delicious rolls (crab roll, spam roll, ham and cheese roll, and more), as well as sweeter items with fruit or scones and turnovers. If you're looking for something hot, they also do more traditional breakfasts. I usually get the Loco Moco or chicken cutlet. Everything is fresh and the owners friendly. Locals go here a lot, but because of great ease and access to the highway, it's a perfect stop traveling in either direction. Only open for breakfast and lunch. If you're looking for a specific roll, better get there early because when they're out, they're out! Check out their burgers at...
