J's Country Kitchen — Restaurant in Kellyville

Stopped in last wednesday for a late lunch. I had the grilled chicken salad which is always good. My mom had the sweet potato fries with honey mustard for dipping & OH MY WORD they rocked! I tried a few and we all just ewwwed & awwwed about how good they were. My husband ate the smothered chicken and it was tasty & juicy. Food is always good and we loved our waitress Gina. She makes the visit all the better. Shes a good waitress. She pays attention to her customers and does a great job. Theres a reason why theyve been in business as long as they have. Eta: To Kendra, whose one star review begins with the word "gross," proceeds to use the word "hillbilly," and contains the word "your" instead of "you're".... I would gladly call myself a hillbilly these days, but for the majority of my 44 years on this old rock I lived in Pismo Beach CA and enjoyed "foodie" food. J's reminds me of Lil Bits in neighboring Grover Beach, which frequently has long waiting times and is packed with locals and tourists from open to close. Both are examples of comfort food...

This is a small little country cafe nestled up close to convenience of route 66. I'll be back for a Wednesday night special one of these days,In the near future. Tonight the mushrooms were my pick of the evening so let's talk about how absolutley wonderful prepared they were,and the recipe must be worth something cause the taste the texture the temperature all scored high for me.
