Twin Lantern Dairy Bar — Restaurant in Kensington

We used to go here all the time when we lived in Amesbury. Thought we'd take a nice little family outing with our children. Well let me tell you, we will NOT be back. It pains me to have to write this review but the customer service was HORRIBLE!!! There was a blonde girl with braided pigtails behind the window who clearly does not like her job and should be spoken to by management. She did not greet us as we all excitedly approached the window. It was evident that she had a bad attitude but this was further confirmed when she got on the loud speaker and YELLED an order number that she wanted someone to come get. The volume blew out everyone's ear drums and the tone of her voice was downright nasty. Customers were visibly shaken by the noise and were clearly turned off by the rudeness in her voice. We almost left at this moment and didn't give our order, but decided to stay for our kids' sake. My sweet daughter asked for a flavor and this same girl stated rudely "I don't have that." Needless to say but we WILL NOT COME BACK. This girl's behavior RUINED our whole experience and I'm sure other customers' as well. She needs to be spoken too and possibly fired for this condescending and unkind behavior....

Pros: The UCB; Oreo ice cream layered with Heath bar, Snickers, and Peanut Butter cups topped with whip cream, cherry, and marshmallow sauce. If candy and ice cream combinations are your jam, this is the fantasy from your childhood only now you're an adult and no can tell you no. The CCSS; Cherry Cheesecake ice cream layered with strawberries, warm homemade shortcakes topped with whip cream, nuts, and a cherry. I have been coming here every summer for 25 years. They are a seasonal ice cream stand with food options as well. I still really enjoy it because the menu has stayed the same except for some things added to it. I love that the food tastes the same as when I was a child. I was a little disappointed with the flavored "dips" they serve on their ice cream. One of my favorite flavors is vanilla with cherry dip but the dip is much different now. It has a waxy consistency and not much flavor. It did not harden to the ice cream the way I remember. The frappes could also use a little less milk and more ice cream. Other than that I really enjoy this place. The parking lot is very small and often full but it is really a great place. Even though I did not love the new dip it will not stop me from coming back.
