Good food, bad customer service. A server dumped someone else's ice cold Pepsi on my 16 month old son and he was soaked from shoulders down. We had been out house shopping all day in the area and this essentially ruined our evening with a soaked, cold, sticky, exhausted kiddo.
The servers were truly apologetic, and I asked if they could do something with the bill as a "we're sorry" for how this all turned out. The server said they'd ask management... never heard anything back on that. Once our pizza came, they gave us the bill. No discount, appetizer, or a gift card... or even a verbal apology from management.
Seriously? You just drenched my child in cold, sticky pop and you can't give a discount or a gift card? Again, this was truly an accident and it can happen to anyone, but it still legitimately ruined our evening. Like, seriously, two other guests from other tables jumped up to help because it was that bad. Anyway, it seems that the management doesn't own their actions and mistakes. "We soak your tired, hungry 16 month old kid in pop? Meh. Tough luck for you. Please pay your bill."
UPDATED EDIT: See their reply below. Again, kind of insulting that their course of action means you have to write a negative review publicly to be taken care of in an accommodating way (if, of course, you first delete the previous review). Proof positive that they deal with what hurts them, not with what hurts their patrons. Further, the Pepsi stained my son's clothes because we couldn't wash them in time; we were in town for only a few days, staying at an Airbnb to look for new housing. By the time we made our way back to the Airbnb near Williamstown, the stain had set.
Again, no fault to the servers - they were kind and apologetic and I truly know this was an accident and unintentional. This stuff happens to us all. I'm not at all frustrated that it occurred, but rather with how it was handled. That said though, if management only acts when other people see/know about poor service from a public review, that is the very definition of poor service. Asking me to delete the review is icing on the proverbial cake.
We'll pass on the "free pizza + delete your...
Read moreNot sure what happened tonight at this restaurand. We showed up to dine in. We were 3 adults with two children, one was in a wheelchair and they could not seat us after 30 minutes of waiting for a table when told “we can seat you in 30 minutes at max”. However, since they could not sit us, we decided to just do take out after waiting for half an hour. Instead of just giving us the kids order of 2 pizzas for free since dine in kids eat free on Tuesdays and we were supposed to be dine in but they could not sit us, they still charged us for the kids order instead. When we paid, the waitress did not split our checks correctly, should of have been three separate checks not two. They told us to come back in a half hour to pick up our order. So when we came back a different waitress read off our order and the order was incorrect. Then we told the waitress for the the kids pizzas they should have been one cheese and one pepperoni not two pepperoni pizzas. The waitress then said “okay our mistake we will fix that for you” and also said 10 minutes for the “cheese on the fly”. The waitress then proceeded with offering us the 2nd pepperoni kids pizza for free and we accepted. Then the waitress who originally took our order came over and said “we can’t do that.” She claimed we ordered two pepperonis and said she reread the order back before we paid. Well, none of us adults heard her re-read our order back before we paid, so obviously her claim was a lie. We were specific about one cheese pizza and one pepperoni pizza because one of the kids does not like to eat pepperoni. She then proceeded to say “you have to pay for this or we can’t give this cheese pizza to you”. Which we believe is wrong since it was their mistake and it should have been free like what the 2nd waitress said and also because it was their fault they couldn’t get us a table and the correct order. But to keep the peace, we just went ahead and paid for the cheese pizza. Surely, that was bad customer service!!! When they say costumers are always right, well, definitely not at this...
Read moreWe were lured by the promise of good deep dish pizza. The Yelp pictures made it look like some of the really good deep dish pizza we had in Chicago and the burbs. Turns out the owner has Chicago roots and nailed deep dish pizza.
We were seated very quickly in the eatery. It isn't a very big place, so I was happy that we had no wait. However, it was freezing inside of the place. I know it wasn't just me as I saw another lady go get a sweatshirt for her son. The staff were likely hot, as they were walking around in shorts, but for the patrons, it was a bit too cold.
We started with a couple of house salads, which had fresh greens, pepperoni and cheddar cheese. I subbed out pepperoni for bacon and they happy obliged with no upcharge. Iwent with their yummy, house-made ranch. It was good. I see why they sell it by the jar. Hubby went with honey-mustard. We also had cherry Pepsi and it was good cherry flavor, no watery pop here. The pizza was the star of the show. We did a medium, deep dish with ricotta, ham, bacon and pineapple. The pizza was thick with crust that was crispy on the tops and bottom, but chewy where it needed to be. It was covered in a zesty sauce and a thick layer of gooey cheese. The ricotta gave a sweetness to the pizza and our choice of toppings, the salty bacon and ham paired with the sweetness of the pineapple complimented that ricotta perfectly. It was a unique combination we have never had before and it was absolutely divine. We were only able to eat about 3 slices and the leftover heated up very nicely in the oven.
Total bill was less than $50 and worth it. It was reasonably priced and we're so happy to find good deep dish...
