Tall black lady rolled her eyes when I walked in and asked for a table and she said there are not tables available, I asked if I can wait and she said there are reservations and fully booked, I asked if I could order Togo and she said mmmm it will take a long time more the 45 min. But all with an attitude. I said okay. I looked around at the little shops for a few minutes and I saw a couple ask for a table and the tall black lady took them back while she was in the back I opened the door for 3 older gentlemen the oldest said I wonder if there are tables and one of them said just come in I’ll ask Goes to the now hostess and asks for a table for 5 and she says to fallow her , 2 more people go the the other hostess and and for a to go order and she takes this order in a very nice way , o go and asks the secon lady that just walked back if I can have a table and says of course one sec (so she can put me in the table lt / computer but suddenly the tall black lady comes back and whispers to her “ we don’t have tables I already told him “. So it gets awkward because she doesn’t know why I can’t get a table . I ask why is she refusing me a table to which the tall lady speaks over and says we don’t have tables. Obviously the other 2 hostess are confused. First time there...
Read moreThis place was a strange set of contradictions. About an hour before they reopened for dinner we were able to get a reservation for two at 5:00. But they turned a single man away at five as they could not accommodate him until at least 5:30. But at 5 they had a single small party of people in each of four separate rooms. See photos.
The food itself for the most part was tasty but the portion sizes were very small and random items were very salty. So note if this is a concern in your personally diet or palate.
The fried chicken was excellent. The salmon small portion and salty. The fried green tomatoes were good but were made for someone who likely doesn’t like fried green tomatoes as you could not actually taste the tomatoes.
My wife’s salad was fabulous but the broccolini was very salty.
The micro sized roll and other starter items were very good but so small.
Also of note. If you click through to their actual website the menu there is the menu we were presented with but don’t bother to look at the menu listed on this Google maps record. They don’t have that food and I assure you the prices are much higher. Too high? Well only you can decide that but honestly while we can afford their prices had we been aware of the real price we would have passed for...
Read moreMy spouse and I are gluten free and struggle to dine out due to our dietary restrictions. Most restaurants gluten free options are limited to salads IF they have any options at all.
We had an amazing lunch experience during a visit to Shaker Village. The service was impeccable. Devon assisted us and was friendly and very helpful while also being attentive of our dietary restrictions. The restaurant has wonderful dedicated gluten free menu with broad offerings - this is so rare for most restaurants! The menu has delicious offerings. We had the Hoppin’ John soup special (amazing!) along with a seasonal salad and a grilled chicken main course with yummy homestyle sides. They also have the most delicious gluten free muffins we have ever had (recipe please!?)
It is so rare for us to have an enjoyable and fulfilling meal dining out. We can’t thank this restaurant and service team enough for being so attentive and quality focused. The mark of a great restaurant is its ability to welcome everyone from menu to plate, we travel a lot and the Trustees Table is top notch and made our day at...
