Whataburger — Restaurant in Kerrville

I used to like going here because the food was good and the staff was very friendly. I don't know what happened but it has definitely went down hill. I went through the drive thru and the person taking my order was very pleasant, however the person working the window passing out the drinks and food was the most rude person I have encountered in quite some time. I guess he thought it would be cute to smash my food. I asked if I could have some ketchup please and he managed to throw it in the bag hard enough that it burst. I didn't notice that my burgers were smashed until I got home. I did make a call and the person I spoke with said he was one of the managers. I only called to let them know that person may need a break or something because of how rude he was. The manager didn't seem to care at all and didn't even offer an apology. Best whataburger in town in quality of food only. Be ready to never have your order made right if you're making any substitutions or customizations. I go there at least twice a month because it is the closest to my house and every single time something is wrong. I order the 3 chicken strip box with 3 extra strips? Nope, I only get 3, this has happened 3 or 4 times. I order a chicken sandwich with no veggies? Nope, veggies, every single time. A mushroom swiss sounds nice, nope, I get a bacon cheeseburger that I didn't even order. I shouldn't have to go back there 5 minutes later to get them to fix it. I stopped in recently when the store wasn’t busy (just two other customers inside). Ordering was quick, but while waiting for my food I overheard a manager repeatedly raising his voice about employees taking too long in the restroom. He was very loud, and even while I was dining in for about 25 minutes I could still hear him continuing the same comments. I understand his concern, but the way it was handled felt unprofessional and uncomfortable for both staff and customers.

When my food arrived, my order was incorrect (missing a patty on my double meat burger), though the staff corrected it without issue.

Overall, the food was fine once fixed, but the atmosphere was unpleasant because of the manager’s approach. I’ll likely choose a different location...
