It's a very pretty campus, has small classes, and some of the professors are really good. I can't urge you enough though not to go to this school. You'll probably never meet a worse student population-- I don't speak for everyone of course, but the vast majority of students are extremely immature. Stuff gets stolen for no reason, gossip everywhere, and plenty of mean people. Frat boys think they're God's chosen and sorority girls are awful. Not too long ago the bigger fraternity was suspended and then disbanded because of all the hazing and misconduct that was going on. There are racists aplenty. It's basically a stereotypical high school because of the small body of students. Add the snobbery that comes with the ridiculous tuition and you have Schreiner. Speaking of tuition, it's definitely not worth the cost. They advertise free books but it's really factored into tuition, and you don't even get to keep them. Any scholarship you get from the school is really nothing, nearly everyone gets one so it just looks like you're getting a good deal. There's something you pay called the "Schreiner Experience Fee," which basically goes towards a trip abroad if you have enough money to afford it. If not, oh well, more money for the school. The school values aesthetic improvements to the campus over practical ones-- such as nicer entrances over proper sidewalks. The food is overpriced and gross (not all the time though), and they'll do anything to get more money out of you. This week is "food waste week" or something, where they pretend to care about the food you waste and how it can help people, when really it's just cutting into their profits. There used to be a comment board, but if you left anything remotely negative on it the food staff would just take it down because they don't actually care about improving their service. Security loves to give tickets when you're in the "wrong" parking lot, even if it's storming (it gets them money). Speaking of parking lots, the school doesn't have adequate parking and you're expected to walk everywhere. The staff loves to belittle the students who complain, but none of the staff have to walk from one end of campus to the other in bad weather, or when they're sick. Most of the professors are nice but the actual staff at the school can be really rude and unhelpful-- a select few can be sexist towards women. Now, I'm not saying you won't get a good education, because you might. You might have some good times and might meet good people-- I met the love of my life here. But why pay so much when you can go somewhere better that won't have nearly as...
Read moreI want to take this opportunity to let the administration know of an experience that I had at Schreiner University on June 5, 2025. My daughter's Jr. ROTC leadership graduation was that morning. I was running late and could not find the building where the graduation was located. Wondering around in the heat an individual came up to me and asked if I was ok. He introduced himself as "Thomas" who was a math instructor and had gone to the university. I told him of my plight and he kindly helped me try to find the building. We walked to one building where he asked students and a faculty member if they knew where the ceremony was being held. The faculty member had stated the ceremony was at another building. Thomas could have given me directions but he walked me over to the building and even went inside to help look for my daughter. I found her and introduced him to her. He then left. It was a very happy moment for me and my daughter. What occurred to me while driving back to San Antonio was that one of the faculty there went the extra mile for a complete stranger-walking in the heat. If Thomas did that for a stranger then I can only imagine what he does for students whom he teaches and knows. To be honest, I did not know much about Schreiner University before that day. I only heard the name a few times. It is said first impressions are everything. I do not have any children that have gone to Schreiner University but if anyone was to ask I can honestly tell them that the faculty at the school will go above and beyond for people and there is dedication and integrity. Thank you for taking the time to...
Read moreI tell anyone that even has a thought of going to this place. DONT!
It is by far the dumbest experience I have ever gone through, from basic forms of communication (email, phone, face to face), a complete joke!
From professors to staff, all around campus trash, and stereotypical people. If you want a place to learn and grow as a person, this is NOT the place! A complete money scheme! They will nickle and dime, with “fees” with no proof of why the fee is there despite proof the fee should NOT be there!
This place was in my past until I get a random email about THEIR accounting problems! So now they make it my problem by expecting me to pay what was already paid. Of course one tries to get statements during this whole process, but back to communication,...
