The locals call this “The Cafe”, now I know why. If you’d like to have hometown cooking like I do, and eating with the locals, this is the place for you. My traveling companion and I stopped in for lunch and we had the broasted chicken special. It came with mashed potatoes and milk gravy, corn, and a hot dinner roll. The meal came with a bowl of chocolate pudding for dessert. My broasted chicken breast and wing were tender and juicy and very tasty and when I ask my companion, she stated that her chicken leg and thigh were also very good. Looking at the menu there’s a wide variety range from hamburgers, open-faced roast beef, to tenderloins that hang off the plate from what I saw arriving at the table next to us. Homemade pies include apple, pecan, peach, coconut cream, chocolate, blackberry, gooseberry, and rhubarb. It’s real hometown cooking and a the place is packed at lunchtime. There’s seven tables and three booths, and it’s a busy place.

The Cafe is always inviting and delicious. The menu has changed. The prices have increased however, still a reasonable place to eat. There are daily special and there's now a salad bar! The cheeseburger and curly fries from my last visit were...
