What a hidden gem.

For the past 15 years, my boss has had a habit of choosing some pretty questionable spots to eat, so I’ll admit—I was nervous this time. But how do you argue when he’s the one picking up the check? He always jokes that his doctor “forbids him from eating anywhere other than good, down-to-earth American food.” Hmm… 🤔 Anyway—this time, he absolutely nailed it.

The moment I stepped inside, I felt at ease. The dining room was clean, modern, and welcoming. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance—simple, but comfortable.

Now, I have a rule: no matter the day or the hour, if I’m at a diner, I’m ordering breakfast. So I went with a short stack of pancakes, bacon, and of course, coffee. The food itself was solid—nothing groundbreaking, just a good, satisfying plate.

But here’s where this place really shines: the service. What looked to be the owners—a kind, hard-working couple—were absolutely delightful to watch in action. They greeted customers by name, remembered their drinks, even chatted about their last visit. The warmth and genuine care they showed wasn’t just good hospitality—it was the kind of human connection you rarely see these days. Honestly, it made my pancakes and bacon taste better.

That’s the magic of this place: the food, the friendliness, the atmosphere—it all comes together to create more than just a restaurant. It feels like a home, a gathering place for people hungry not just for a meal, but for community.

And that’s why I’ll be back. Sure, I’ll enjoy the pancakes again—but mostly, I’ll come for the real secret recipe here: the sense of care and belonging these two wonderful people serve with every plate.

Thank you for such a...

Went at the suggestion of a friend. Got there and the waitresses seemed nice enough. It wasn't very busy and my friend and I were seated right away. I ordered chicken fried steak and my friend ordered chicken fried chicken. Took a little longer than I expected to receive the food, but it wasn't an excruciating wait. The food was presentable enough but my friend's chicken fried chicken was literally the size of a McDonald's sausage patty. He asked the waitress if this is what he gets for $13. Waitress replied it is the smallest she had ever seen them serve and she will see what she can do. She came back about a minute later and said that they were gonna cook him another one. My friend cut into his CFC and it was RAW. I don't mean undercooked. I mean raw. He took it to show the cook and the line cook snatched the plate out of his hand and said, "Ya. Ya. Whatever." They offered to replace his CFC but my friend refused it. I don't blame him. I ate my CFS. It was fairly bland, nothing to write home about. After I finished they handed us the bill. They charged my friend for the meal he refused to eat out of fear of getting salmonella. We paid and on our way out the waitress advised that the NEXT time my friend came in that he would be comped a meal. Nice, because neither of us plan...

We first noticed that we had to ask for everything including what pricing was because there silly menu. We got coffees and a water for our kiddo they didn't give us water so we asked then they only brought us one... I asked for sugar and creamer they gave us 3 creamers and 4pks of sugar for us both to share I guess. Then mine and my son's food was horrible! I got a veggie omelette with home fries huge giant mistake omlette was just nasty and brown home fries were old and looked like they were over cooked they weren't only gross but hard to eat! I got my son the mickey pancake and eggs and was supposed to be egg whites which I guess she didn't understand because he got a over easy egg and he doesn't even like yolks so he didn't touch that and he got home fries as well didn't like those for the same reasons listed above and he didn't even want his pancake because it had a weird taste to it, he did like the sausage so there's that. But it's pretty bad when my 5 year old asks me why people eat there when everything was bad. We had to ask for refills on coffee sugar and cream as well just horrible experience I was hoping to find a new go to place but this...

Very nice friendly, Mom and Pop owned and operated. Big roomy dining area. Clean, nicely decorated. The service is inefficient. Mom and Pop really need to hire some help. Maybe they are normally fully staffed just shorthanded this morning. It was noticeable. Several diners that were in the restaurant when we got seated, had been over looked. We got service before them. I understand their frustration. A group was up front at the register waiting to be seated for over 20 minutes. The restaurant had plenty of open seating. They were overlooked. Our food sat on the counter too long before it was finally served. It was a little cool. I had my standard breakfast, cooked just right, just a little too cool from the delayed delivery. My wife had an excellent cheese omelet. Check the pictures. Be patient, the food is good.

I love finding hole in the wall establishments when I visit a city I've never been to in order check out the skillz of the kitchen staff, if any skillz. I'm glad I found this place instead Braum's for lunch. I wasn't sure how well the food would taste, but I'm sure glad I took the servers advice to have the catfish special. I added okra along with gravy to dip my fries. Don't know it until you taste it, but it's way better with brown gravy. If anyone is ever in this area, I suggest to find this location for some good comfort food with homemade desserts.
