I had heard quite a bit about this particular eatery so I was quite excited to stop in during my visit to the area. I was met with a slightly unfriendly staff and high prices for what the food is. One item I was hoping to taste was fried alligator but there are no small "try it" sizes and I was forced to purchase an entire dinner plate at a cost of $16.99. Additionally, they do not sell water in glasses, they only sell bottled water, which seemed a bit out of sorts, but I'm sure I know their reasons. The prices are quite high overall but I am certain that is due to the lack of competition in the area, other than the casino. The food is tasty overall but not quite worth the cost, in my honest opinion. The atmosphere is one of a basic eatery with autographed photos of celebrities on the wall and a large amount of LSU memorabilia present. (Geaux Tigers) A drop in price of roughly 25% would make the food not only worth the price but would entice me to visit again the next time I am in town. If ever another restaurant offering similar cuisine opened up in the area, I am certain this place would lower their prices significantly. As it is now, I will simply continue to Lake Charles next time and stop by some other eateries there (that I reviewed). I do not know the Louisiana gun laws so my typical appendix about the establishment allowing weapons on the premesis is not part of...
Read moreAfter waiting 40 mins for our food as others around us that ordered after us got served, they delivered our food and it incorrect and cold. One of our kids didn't even get his food and after asking about it, we found out the lady that repeated our order back to us twice, didn't ring it up. We were half way through our food when my husband had to get up for the second time and see what was taking so long to get his food. We were told the lady at the front didn't ring up the order so we would have to wait in the long line again and pay for it. We asked to speak the the manager. They sent out a boy that couldn't have even been out of high school to tell me he could take my card to pay for the gumbo we have now waited over 50 mins for and he would have it out in under 5 mins. So rather than make up for our long wait, cold food and missing food items by just bringing the gumbo, he had a rude tone telling me he was not just giving me free food As if we hadn't just bought 5 other meals that were served us cold and like he wasn't going to try and make up for the mistake of his employee. This will be the last time we visit Faustos. They clearly don't take pride in their...
Read moreWell…. First time ever there. Took my husband there for Father’s Day. (My husband had been there before but many years ago) First of all, I was intrigued when I first walked in by all the celebrity photos on the wall. Which led me to ask how long had this restaurant been here to the young lady on the register. She said I have no idea, “ a long time”. Then I went to step to the side and my flip flop stuck to the floor which was comical but likely a precursor for what was to come. We placed our order and honestly I looked around and the young ladies working the floor were very kind and polite to the patrons. We sat down to the left of the register area. We didn’t wait very long for food which was tasty for the most part. BUT the amount of flies in there was truly disturbing and at one point we thought we would be picked up and carried away by how many were circling around us like buzzards. My husband said hurry up and eat so we can get out of here. Needless to say we won’t be returning. The whole place could use a good cleaning which may help with...
