Marcella's Sweetery — Restaurant in King

My parents had a very disappointing experience at this bakery. They unintentionally walked in around 2:45 PM and were met with an unwelcoming and noticeably rude attitude. My dad was hoping to enjoy a simple black coffee, but was curtly told that service was not possible because the coffee had already been put away.

When my mom asked for a scone—of which three were still visible—she was handed the least appealing one. Unfortunately, it tasted just as bad as it looked.

We understand that businesses have closing procedures, but there’s always a courteous way to communicate that to customers. A simple, friendly message like “We’d love to have you back tomorrow when our scones are fresh and the coffee is freshly brewed” would have made all the difference.

Due to the lack of basic customer courtesy and hospitality, we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to others. Respect and kindness should never go out of service—even 15 minutes...

Love this bakery and coffee shop! I love the sunlight coming in the front windows, beautiful decor, overall great aesthetic.

I'm gluten-free, so I appreciate the gluten-free options they often have: peanut butter ball, sometimes a cupcake or cheesecake. Their drinks are also delicious, haven't had a latte there yet that wasn't very well made.

I would recommend checking this place out if you haven't. Just one more terrific bakery and coffee option in King! A great place to meet friends & sit and chat.

My wife brought home cinnamon rolls. She thoughtfully left one for me and when I got home late from work I helped myself to it. Had no idea that it came from here. I actually thought my 2nd grader made them without much help from mom. Sad when I learned the truth the following morning. Hope they read this review and take it to heart. I’ll try again in a month or two and hope to change this review cause I don’t see them staying in business long if the rest of there goods taste as amateur as the cinnamon rolls. Not trying to hate.
